THR reports that "Due Date" and "Made of Honor" writer Adam Sztykiel has been hired to pen the sequel script to last year's comedy hit "We're the Millers".
The original film is about a marijuana dealer who recruits a faux family so he
can get out of the business after making one last score by smuggling
1,400 pounds of pot from Mexico.
Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Will Poulter and Emma Roberts are all expected to reprise their roles in the follow-up, though no deals have been made yet. Dodgeball's Rawson Marshall Thurber is also expected back to call action again. Chris Bender and Vincent Newman are producing the follow-up.
The
first film was produced for nearly $40 million and scored huge
business, taking in $150 million in the U.S. alone and a further $120
million overseas - doubly impressive when you consider American comedies
rarely score that kind of traction overseas.
