Real life Hollywood couple Leighton Meester and Adam Brody will star in the comedy "Life Partners" says Deadline.

 
The story follows co-dependent friendship between two very different girls — type-A Paige (Gillian Jacobs) and lesbian slacker Sasha (Meester). Paige has vowed that she won’t get married until Sasha has the same legal right and that works out fine until Paige meets Tim (Brody), a young and charming doctor.

Simone Bailly, John Forest Abby Elliott, and Beth Dover co-star

Susanna Fogel co-wrote the script with Joni Lefkowitz from which Fogel will direct.

Giannone "Hustles" In New Role

Jay Giannone has joined David O. Russell's once Untitled drama thriller formerly called "American Bullsh*t" now titled American Hustle says Variety.

In the film, Christian Bale will play a financial con man forced to work with an ambitious FBI agent (Bradley Cooper) to take down other crims, gangsters and politicians.

Giannone will portray a real-life hustler

Amy Adams will play Bale's mistress, and Jeremy Renner will play the leader of the New Jersey state assembly. Louis CK will play an FBI agent. Jennifer Lawrence will play Bale's wife. Alessandro Nivola will play Reggio, the federal prosecutor who tried the case in court. Elisabeth Rohm will play the wife of Renner's character. Dawn Olivieri will play Cooper's girlfriend while Thomas Matthews plays Renner's son. Jack Huston Robert De Niro singer Jack Jones and Michael Peña also star.

Russell and Eric Singer wrote the script from which Russell calls action

Megan Ellison, Charles Roven, Richard Suckle and Ted Schipper will produce the film.

Production is underway in Boston to meet a limited release on December 13th. Footage from the pic was screened during the CinemaCon trade show in Las Vegas.

Gadon Gets Bitten By Acting Bug In "Dracula"

Sarah Gadon ("Cosmopolis," "A Dangerous Method") will play the female lead in the "Dracula" reboot at Universal Pictures says Variety.

Formerly known as "Dracula Year Zero"--the project centers on Vlad the Impaler (Luke Evans) and his lust for blood which inspired the mythology behind Bram Stoker's classic novel. The film came close to production a while back when the studio shut it down due to the budget being too large.

The pic previously had Sam Worthington attached to star and Alex Proyas set to direct.

Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless wrote the latest draft of the screenplay from which commercials guy Gary Shore is now in poised to direct. Michael De Luca will act as producer.

The project has hopes of production starting later this year.

"Ender's Game" Peek Push

Summit Entertainment will drop the first trailer for Gavin Hood's sci-fi epic "Ender's Game" on Tuesday May 7th....

Based upon author Orson Scott Card's book the tale follows Andrew 'Ender' Wiggin, (Hugo Cabret star Asa Butterfield) a bullied young boy who turns out to be a master military strategist.

Abigail Breslin will play the older sister of Wiggin "True Grit" actress Hailee Steinfeld is set to play the lone female in the child army who develops a relationship with Wiggin. Ben Kingsley is gonna play a legendary war hero presumed to be long dead. Harrison Ford will play the Colonel Hyrum Graff, the commander of training at elite boys' military academy. Canadian actor Brendan Meyer will play Stilson, Ender’s classmate who taunted him during ground school. Oscar-nominated "The Help" actress Viola Davis will play a military psychologist who oversees the emotional welfare of young trainees. She also helps design the games that test their skills and resilience. Nonso Anozie will play Sergeant Dap while Stevie Ray Dallimore and Andrea Powell will play Ender's parents.

Hood wrote the adapted script and will helm.

JT Will Be "Spinning Gold"

Justin Timberlake will star in a biopic about iconic 1970s music entrepreneur Neil Bogart
called "Spinning Gold" according to Screen Daily.

Bogart launched the careers of some of the eras greatest like Curtis Mayfield, Gladys Knight, KISS, Donna Summer and The Village People.

He died young at the age of 39, in 1982.

Bogart’s son Timothy Scott Bogart developed the script with Timberlake and wrote the screenplay.

Timberlake, Mark Damon, Laurence Mark, Bogart and Gary A. Randall (Saving Grace will produce.

Taylor Builds King's "Joyland"

"The Help" director Tate Taylor is set to both write and direct the film adaptation of author Stephen King's upcoming novel "Joyland" says Deadline.

Set in a North Carolina amusement park in 1973, the story follows a college student who moonlights as a carnival worker. There, he confronts the legacy of a vicious murder, the fate of a dying child, and the ways both will forever change his life.

Taylor and John Norris will produce the flick.

Slade Falls For "The Widow"

THR reports that David Slade will direct the psychological thriller "The Widow".

Ray Wright's script centers on a young woman who befriends a lonely widow, only to discover that their encounter was not a coincidence.

Philippe Rousselet, Steve Golin and Alix Madigan will produce the film.

Production starts later this year.

Emmy-winning actor Richard Schiff will play Dr. Hamilton. Cooper Timberline and Dylan Sprayberry both play young Clark Kent at various ages in the film. Jadin Gould is a young Lana Lang.

David S. Goyer wrote the first screenplay draft based on a story he concocted with Christopher Nolan. His bro Jonah Nolan taking a crack at the task as well Kurt Johnstad did rewrites

Charles Roven, Emma Thomas Deborah Snyder, and Nolan will be producers on the film.

White House Down Trailer #2

Since The White House is taken over by North Korean terrorists actioner Olympus Has Fallen is winding up its theatrical run--Sony Pictures' rival project White House Down gets a second trailer...

For Down James Vanderbilt wrote the script that sees a paramilitary takeover of The White House. Channing Tatum will star as a single father and Secret Service agent.

Maggie Gyllenhaal would play a fellow Secret Service agent. Jamie Foxx is set to play the President of the United States in the film. James Woods is in talks to play the head of the Secret Service. Joey King will play Tatum's young daughter. Jason Clarke will play Stenz, the leader of the mercenaries. Lance Reddick will play Colonel Janowitz, who serves as the handle for the Speaker of the House (Richard Jenkins) who trails the Vice President (Michael Murphy) in America's presidential line of succession. Garcelle Beauvais is the First Lady. Rachelle Lefevre will play the ex-wife of Tatum.

Sony paid $3 million for the script last year.

Roland Emmerich directs.

Emmerich, Vanderbilt, Harald Kloser, Bradley Fischer and Laeta Kalogridis will produce.

I did not see "Fallen" (I will at some point) and as much as I think Emmerich has become a one note director--I get the sense from this peek that "Down" has the potential to be the better film of the two. Yes the action looks quite ridiculous and Tatum seems to channel Bruce Willis in the first Die Hard--right down to wearing a white tank top---Still this looks like it will be a fun Summer ride. Foxx and Tatum look like they had fun!

The film hits theaters June 28th--We will find out if the positive vibe I get from the trailer turns out to be correct...

Trek 2: Three's Company....

Here's the next clip from the J.J. Abrams’ sequel "Star Trek Into Darkness" released by Paramount Pictures.

In the new film the Enterprise crew will face off with Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch's baddie "John Harrison" who might just be a version of Khan Noonien Singh in the film. Or is it perhaps Gary Mitchell instead? Someone else. All involved are still saying Harrison is the name of Cumby's character. I say hogwash--If that's the truth why the secrecy?...And why tell us early on that the big bad was someone we know from Trek lore? Here's my theory...

Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin John Cho and Bruce Greenwood have all returned to the Final Frontier in their respective roles as Kirk Spock Uhura Dr. McCoy Scotty Chekov Sulu and Admiral Pike.

The Supporting Cast Includes Alice Eve as Carol Marcus. Nazneen Contractor who will play the wife of Noel Clarke’s family man character And former "Robocop" star Peter Weller playing Admirial Marcus, actor/stuntman Joseph Gatt. Original "A Nightmare on Elm Street" star Heather Langenkamp has a small part in the film as well.

Leonard Nimoy's return as Spock Prime following his larger cameo from "Star Trek" '09 had been walked back yet not fully denied...Klingons will be making an appearance in the Star Trek sequel as will their home world. The adversaries were left on the cutting room of the last pic.

Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof wrote the script for director Abrams.

The sequel will be produced by Abrams, Kurtzman, Orci, Lindelof, Bryan Burk, and David Ellison.

The film will be released May 17, 2013 in 3D and IMAX in the US. May 10th in UK , Germany, Australia & other countries.

Until now the clips that have been released have been action heavy for the most part....This one is a nice character moment--Something that the franchise has always done very well--especially while they are riding the turbolift....

Spielberg Does "American Sniper" Next

THR reports that Steven Spielberg will direct the biopic American Sniper, which will be his next movie.

Based upon U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle's autobiography--Jason Dean Hall will write the adapted script about Texas native Kyle (Bradley Cooper) who came to record the highest number of sniper kills (255) for an American. The book is a frank first-person account and includes passages from his wife who slowly watches her husband’s affection turn from her to his job. Tragically, this true American hero was killed by a fellow veteran at a shooting range in February.

Cooper will produce along with Andrew Lazar Spielberg and Peter Morgan.

Production is tentatively scheduled to begin in the first quarter of next year. Cooper is currently making American Hustle for director David O. Russell in Boston.

Spielberg was previously set to make Robopocalypse as his next film, before the project was put on indefinite hold in January.

Trio Know Their "Geography"

Ethan Hawke, Vera Farmiga and Emmanuelle Devos have joined the long-gestating 1970’s-set crime-thriller The Geography of Hope says Screen Daily,

The story follows two small time crooks (Hawke and Ed Harris) who are keeping a low profile in a Baja resort after a heist goes wrong.When they meet two women holidaying together (Farmiga and Devos), sparks fly romantically but tension builds when a large amount of cash is found in their room. The discovery sets in motion a series of events that pits man against woman and friend against friend, leading to a bloody conclusion.

Neil Labute’s calling action using his own script.

Stefan Nowicki, Joey Carey, Trace Sheehan and Tim Harms will produce the film.

Witherspoon's Busy Day...

THR reports that recent arrestee actress Reese Witherspoon is talks to join the long-gestating sci-fi film "Passengers"

The story follows Jim Preston, (Keanu Reeves) a mechanic on a 120-year journey to a distant colonized planet in another galaxy, who becomes the first of the 5,000 travellers to experience pod hibernation failure. Awake a century too soon, he is stranded in the world of an interstellar spaceship with only robots for companionship. A year on his loneliness causes him to awaken a beautiful journalist (Witherspoon) named Aurora and they fall in love.

The truth of her revival, and a major malfunction on the ship, are also key plot points.

One tine "Prometheus" scripter Jon Spaihts wrote this original script when it was setup several years ago. Frequent Game of Thrones episode director Brian Kirk will make his feature film directorial debut 

Stephen Hamel and Reeves developed the project, while Hamel and Ben Browning will produce.

Meantime  Deadline reported earlier that Fox 2000 has acquired J. Mills Goodloe's script "Depth Of Field," an American adaptation of the Lynne Truss 2009 memoir "Get Her Off the Pitch!" with Reese attached to star.

Sheridan Is "Playing with the Enemy"

Filmmaker Jim Sheridan will rewrite the adapted script and direct "Playing With The Enemy" says Deadline.

Based on author Gary W. Moore's book of the same name about his father, the story follows how 15-year-old Gene Moore was a baseball prodigy drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1940. Moore joined the Navy and was stationed at an isolated P.O.W. camp in Louisiana. There, he taught German prisoners how to play baseball.

Berman & Pulcini Fall Into A "Coma"

Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini ("Girl Most Likely," "American Splendor") will direct the indie rom-com "My Beautiful Coma" says Variety.

The pair will rewrite Chris Downey’s script which follows an estranged couple who, after a car accident, find themselves side by side in the hospital, in comas. In their comatose state, each escape into their own alternate-reality where they are able to live out their every whim and fantasy. When they cross over into each other’s coma-worlds, trouble ensues.

Cathy Schulman Matt Rhodes Brett Ratner will produce the pic.

John Cheng and Bobby Sabelhaus will exec produce.

Vaughn Plans A Business Trip With Scott

Writer/director Ken Scott and Vince Vaughn worked together on Delivery Man--an upcoming comedy out on October 4th about a man who donated sperm and fathered hundreds of children who all want to meet him. It would seem that the two got along well because they may re-team on Business Trip says Deadline.

The storyline in Steve Conrad's script is being kept under wraps.

Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch are producing.

Production hopes to begin this fall.

Collins Is Elizabeth Bennett In "Zombies"

Lily Collins is talks to star in the long in the works adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies says THR,

The film's story is taken from Seth Grahame-Smith's book using Jane Austen's classic Pride and Prejudice and puts bloodthirsty flesh-eating zombies into the action. The tome now tells the timeless story of a woman's quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the undead into vicious killers.

Production execs Megan Ellison and Allison Shearmur will shepard the project going forward.The team is currently looking at directors, and the film will be packaged for the Cannes Film Festival 2013 in a few weeks.

Natalie Portman was to play the role as well as produce the film but left back in 2010. Then Anne Hathaway, Scarlett Johansson Mia Wasikowska Mila Kunis, Emma Stone, Rooney Mara, and Olivia Wilde were all being considered for the role at one point. And then Blake Lively and Dominic Cooper were attached to play the leads before it crumbled

Craig Gillespie was the director on the film before he left in the Fall of 2011--David O. Russell and Mike White were previously attached to helm too but soon left the pic; Russell, Gillespie Grahame-Smith and Marti Noxon have all drafted the script

Tass Brings "Valentine" To Life On Big Screen

Nadia Tass is set to direct the indie action feature Valentine: Brains, Beauty and Bullets says Variety/

The filn is based on the Valentine comic book series created by Dan Cooney about a female contract-killer who has an addictive attraction to risk and violence, along the way becoming a liability to everyone she has ever met.

Huston Huddleston wrote the adapted script.

Anna Cordova and Robert Faber will produce the pic.

Hazeldine Redrafts Mann's Agincourt

Exam writer/dirctor Stuart Hazeldine is set to rewrite the adapted script for the film version of author Bernard Cornwell's book called "Agincourt" according to Deadline.

The story follows a young man under a death sentence who is saved by his skills as an archer when King Henry V notices him. The archer develops into a warrior and falls in love with a young woman whose virtue he saved from a lecherous priest, while the king prepares to lead his outnumbered English troops against the French in the Battle Of Agincourt.

Michael Hirst and Benjamin Ross wrote previous drafts.

Michael Mann will direct the film once he wraps on the Chris Hemsworth-led Cyberthriller Project.

Yelchin, Others, Work "5 To 7"

Glenn Close, Frank Langella, Bérénice Marlohe Lambert Wilson and Olivia Thirlby  have all joined the indie dramedy 5 to 7 says Variety.

 In the film Anton Yelchin plays an aspiring novelist who has an extramarital with the wife (Marlohe pictured) of a French diplomat (Wilson).
 
Langella and Close will play the novelist’s parents, Thirlby is a New York book editor.

Victor Levin will direct using his own script.

Sam Englebardt, William D. Johnson, Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn will produce the film.

Production kicks off this month in New York.

Radcliffe Gets "Tokyo Vice" Beat

Deadline reports that Daniel Radcliffe has landed the lead in the crime thriller Tokyo Vice.

The actor will portray Jake Adelstein, an American reporter working for the Tokyo newspaper Yomiuri Shinbun on the crime beat. The story tells how his non-stop investigation of Yakuza crime lord Tadamasa Goto came at a high personal cost, including threats against his life.

Anthony Mandler is directing from an adapted screenplay by Jt Rogers and Adelstein from the memior

John Lesher and Adam Kassan are producing the film.

Production will begin in early 2014.

Grammer Is "Transformers" New Human Baddie

Deadline reports that former Frasier star Kelsey Grammer has been cast as the human bad guy in Transformers 4. He will play counter intelligence officer Harold Attinger.

The new film folows a high school student, and daughter (Nicola Peltz) of Mark Wahlberg's character, and her racecar driver boyfriend--Jack Reynor--who is expected to be signed for three-picture deal. Josh Duhamel recently said that they are trying to ensure an appearance for his military hero character, Major Lennox in the film. Stanley Tucci has joined the cast alomg with a mysterious young actor who hasn't been identified yet.

Director Michael Bay has confirmed that the next film is set four years after the events in Chicago as seen in the third film--Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Ehren Kruger is writing the script for the fourth film which starts production in May and hits theaters on June 27th, 2014

Lerman Is Tank Gunner In "Fury"

Deadline reports that Logan Lerman has signed on to join the war tank movie "Fury".

Set in the closing days of the fighting in Europe during World War II, the story follows the five-man crew of an American tank named Fury that runs across a desperate German division.

Brad Pitt and Shia Labeouf also star. Lerman is playing Norman Ellison, an Army typist who is the youngest of the crew, who is forced to become their new tail gunner.

David Ayer's calling action using his own script and says that he wants to "make a war movie for modern audiences that explored battlefield heroics in an honest way".

Bill Block, John Lesher and Ethan Smith are producing the film.

Ayer is now in post-production on the Sam Worthington/Arnold Schwarzenegger action-thriller "Ten" .

Shooting begins in September.

Lerman hits theaters in "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea of Monsters" on August 16th.

Cooper Does Not Have A "Gun"

Bradley Cooper has exited the troubled western "Jane Got A Gun" says THR.

The film centers on a woman (Natalie Portman) who must defend her farm when her outlaw husband (Noah Emmerich) returns home after a gunfight at death's door. With his gang--led by John Bishop (Cooper) coming to kill them, she seeks the help of an ex-lover (Joel Edgerton) to defend themselves. Rodrigo Santoro will play a character named Fitchum.Jane Got A Gun" says Deadline.

This film has had a wild ride that began when original director Lynne Ramsay quit over a dispute with producer Scott Steindorff who said that incident was the result of a last minute attempt by Ramsay's lawyer to renegotiate terms. Steindorff was quick to call Ramsay's decision not to show up for the first day of production “insane.”

 Less then 24 hours later Warrior helmer Gavin O'Connor was brought on as her replacement.

Actor Jude Law then left the production because, he signed on to work with Ramsay, and not with O'Connor.

 Law ironically came on to the picture as the result of an earlier casting shift that happened when Michael Fassbender dropped out after having a reported falling-out with Ramsey.

It is unclear why Cooper left--He does have a lot on his plate. But thankfully the exit hasn't affected the shoot yet because right now it's in a planned shut-down phase. It's something they built in when O'Connor took over – he couldn't take on the project cold so even as they began shooting immediately, they restructured the schedule, putting in this time frame which would allow them to breath and catch up. Cooper's part was always scheduled to shoot during the latter half of production..

As one put it, "The script about the making of Jane Got a Gun could be more interesting than the movie itself."

Brian Duffield wrote the script which forced a bidding war at the Cannes Film Festival and also made last year's annual Black List of best unproduced screenplays.

Portman, Steindorff, Terry Dougas and Chris Coen are producing the film.

Carke Works In Franco's "Garden"

THR reports that "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke will join actor/director James Franco in the contemporary thriller "The Garden of Last Days"

Based upon author Andre Dubus III's book--The story involves three interwoven story lines - a stripper forced to bring her three-year-old daughter to work; an angry, loner who gets thrown out of the club; and a foreigner with an endless supply of cash about to commit a terrifying act.

Clarke will play April

The film will be set in present day New York rather than around the September 11th attacks time frame of the book. Hanna Weg is writing the adapted screenplay

Weg, Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel, Danielle Robinson, Vince Jolivette and Miles Levy will produce.

The Wolverine Is Primed For Battle

The CinemaCon footage for the conic book superhero pic "The Wolverine" is online--While it is a brief peek--What is there is pretty intense...

The script initially written by Christopher McQuarrie--then reworked by Mark Bomback--is set mostly in Japan and based on the great mini-series by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont. The sequel will find our steel clawed hero (star Hugh Jackman) going toe to toe with the Silver Samurai.

Will Yun Lee will play Harada, aka. The Silver Samurai - a crime lord's illegitimate son with an electrified suit of armor. Brian Tee ("Grimm") is Noburo Mori, a corrupt justice minister about to marry the crime lord's daughter (who is Logan's love interest).Also cast are Hiroyuki Sanada ("Lost," "The Last Samurai") as Shingen, Hal Yamanouchi ("Push") as Yashida, and Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukushima as Mariko and Yukio. Svetlana Khodchenkova ("Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy") plays 'The Viper' Famke Janssen will cameo as Jean Grey-A role she played in the first 3 films in the X-Men film series.

The Wolverine has a July 26th 2013 release date.

Watts Works "While We're Young"

THR reports that Naomi Watts is in talks to join the dramatic comedy While We're Young.

The story centers on a documentary filmmaker (Ben Stiller) and his wife (Watts) who begin to change their uptight ways when they meet and befriend a younger couple. Adam Driver is playing one half of said younger couple, while Amanda Seyfried is a potential candidate to round out the foursome.

Noah Baumbach is directing from his own screenplay.

Scott Rudin will produce the film.

Production is now set to begin this fall in New York City.

Portman & Fassbender Star In A Screen Version Of Macbeth

Natalie Portman is set to play Lady Macbeth opposite the recently announced Michael Fassbender in the title role in the newest film adaptation of author William Shakespeare's classic play says Screen

Portman and Fassbender recently worked together on a Terrence Malick Project, and Nat has reportedly long wanted to play the role.

This "visceral" version contains major battle scenes, is set in the 11th century, and will be performed in "the original language".

Justin Kurzel ("Snowtown") helms this update from a script adaptation by Todd Louiso and Jacob Koskoff.

The project is due to be in production by later this year.

Allison Williams Is "Rosaline": In Talks For FF Reboot

"Girls" star Allison Williams has won the title role in the rom-drama "Rosaline" says Deadline.

Based on Rebecca Serle's debut novel--When You Were Mine--A contemporary high school-set take on "Romeo and Juliet" in which Lily Collins would play Rose whose boyfriend Rob (Dave Franco) is stolen by her cousin and best friend Juliet (Deborah Ann Woll) who is rumoured to have suicidal tendencies.

Collins replaced the once attached Hailee Steinfeld

The film will be directed by Michael Sucsy using an adapted script penned by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber.

Shawn Levy will produce the film.

Williams is also on the short list to play Invisible Girl in the "Fantastic Four" reboot, however, talks are said to be in the very early stages.

The comic book series is about four individuals-- Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Sue Storm (The Invisible Girl--played previously by Jessica Alba), her brother Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing).who gained superpowers after exposure to cosmic rays during a scientific mission to outer space.

Jeremy Slater was hired to pen the most recent script draft.--that Seth Grahame-Smith polished. Michael Green ("Green Lantern") also wrote a draft as well.

PTA's Adaptation Of "Vice" Gets Going Soon

"The Master" director Paul Thomas Anderson's adaptation of author Thomas Pynchon's novel "Inherent Vice"is expected to begin production this month says Cigs & Red Vines.

In 1969 Los Angeles, Joaquin Phoenix will play a stoner detective named Doc Sportello, whose ex-girlfriend (Charlize Theron), sets things in motion when she comes to Doc with a story about her billionaire land developer boyfriend being kidnapped.

Anderson wrote the adapted screenplay

Anderson, Megan Ellison, John Lesher and JoAnne Sellar will produce the film .

Robert Downey Jr. had been attached to the lead role

PTA has been talking about making Vice since 2010, but went off to make The Master instead. Word is PTA is looking to make Vice into a comedy in the vein of Cheech and Chong meets The Big Lebowski or Boogie Nights.

Anderson is said to be filling out his supporting cast at the moment.

Chastain Is "The Zookeeper's Wife"

Jessica Chastain is attached to star in an adaptation of author Diane Ackerman'sWorld War II era novel "The Zookeeper's Wife" says THR.

The true story account follows keepers of the Warsaw Zoo, who helped save hundreds after the Nazi army overran Warsaw.Jan and Antonina Zabinski began smuggling Jews into empty cages, along with taking about a dozen Jews into their home.A mix of humans and surviving animals came together in a one-of-a-kind community that included socializing and a piano concert.

Niki Caro (North Country) will direct the project using an Angela Workman screenplay.

Jeff Abberley, Mike Tollin Kim Zubick, Diane Miller-Levin and Robbie Rowe-Tollin are producing the movie.

O'Dowd Is A "Coward" Cohort

Bridesmaids star Chris O'Dowd is  set to join the period comedy "The Coward" says THR

Set in 18th century England, the story focuses on the cowardly son of a nobleman (Girls co-star Adam Driver), who decides to hire a common criminal (O’Dowd) to fight a contest. The criminal soon tries to kill the man, and take his place in high society, something the father completely goes along with.

Max Winkler will direct using a script by Matt Spicer, that is based on a play by Nick Jones.

Peter Saraf, Marc Turtletaub, Ravi Nandan and Scott Armstrong are producing the film.

Wolverine Spotted On "X-Men" Sequel

Director Bryan Singer took to Twitter to post another photo from the set of the upcoming sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past. This time it's of Wolverine.

The entire X-Men: First Class cast is set to reprise their roles, including James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), and Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert), and Nicholas Hoult (Beast).

The original trilogy stars Sir Ian McKellen Sir Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman are already poised to return again as well. Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pride) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman)Halle Berry (Storm) While it was hoped that James Marsden (Cyclops) would be back. It seems Alan Cumming.(Nightcrawler) will not return.

Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage has a key role in the film. There is speculation that he is playing bad guy Apocalypse Daniel Cudmore is returning as Colossus and BooBoo Stewart is also in the film--character as yet unknown. Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has joined the film--as Blink, a mutant with the power of teleportation. French actor Omar Sy and Adan Canto also star.

Singer penned the treatment and produced 'First Class' which was directed by Matthew Vaughn. Now, their roles will be completely reversed for this sequel with Singer helming the film while Vaughn wrote the treatment and will produce with Lauren Shuler Donner and writer Simon Kinberg.

The sequel is based on a -2 issue story arc in the 'X-Men' comics published in 1981. Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes) is on board to pen the screenplay which will include New Mutants. Magneto and his relationship with Charles X. Xavier will be front and center as well.

Production on the sequel is well underway..X-Men: Days Of Future Past" hits screens July 18th 2014.

Trek 2: When Jimmy Meets Carol

Here's the 4th clip from the J.J. Abrams’ sequel "Star Trek Into Darkness" that has been released by Paramount Pictures.

In the new film the Enterprise crew will face off with Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch's baddie "John Harrison" who might just be a version of Khan Noonien Singh in the film. Or is it perhaps Gary Mitchell instead? Someone else. All involved are still saying Harrison is the name of Cumby's character. I say hogwash--If that's the truth why the secrecy?...And why tell us early on that the big bad was someone we know from Trek lore? Here's my theory...

Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin John Cho and Bruce Greenwood have all returned to the Final Frontier in their respective roles as Kirk Spock Uhura Dr. McCoy Scotty Chekov Sulu and Admiral Pike.

The Supporting Cast Includes Alice Eve as Carol Marcus. Nazneen Contractor who will play the wife of Noel Clarke’s family man character And former "Robocop" star Peter Weller playing Admirial Marcus, actor/stuntman Joseph Gatt. Original "A Nightmare on Elm Street" star Heather Langenkamp has a small part in the film as well.

Leonard Nimoy's return as Spock Prime following his larger cameo from "Star Trek" '09 had been walked back yet not fully denied...Klingons will be making an appearance in the Star Trek sequel as will their home world. The adversaries were left on the cutting room of the last pic.

Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof wrote the script for director Abrams.

The sequel will be produced by Abrams, Kurtzman, Orci, Lindelof, Bryan Burk, and David Ellison.

Whedon On Thanos & The Avengers

While chatting with Desde Hollywood writer/director Joss Whedon indicates that despite the seeing him during the end credits of "The Avengers," Thanos will NOT be the villain for "The Avengers 2".

He says: "Thanos is more powerful. He is so powerful; he is not someone you can just trot out and punch him. Like he did in the comics, you want him threading through the universe and to save the big finale for the big finale. He is definitely a part of what I have got going on. The thing about The Avengers is that they are very powerful but not very stable. So, there will definitely be some people that will shake them up in the next installment."

This suggests that we might not see Thanos and his full plan until we get to "The Avengers 3" in 2018.
