"Girls" star Allison Williams has won the title role in the rom-drama "Rosaline" says Deadline.
Based on Rebecca Serle's debut novel--When You Were Mine--A contemporary high school-set take on "Romeo and Juliet" in which Lily Collins would play Rose whose boyfriend Rob (Dave Franco) is stolen by her cousin and best friend Juliet (Deborah Ann Woll) who is rumoured to have suicidal tendencies.
Collins replaced the once attached Hailee Steinfeld
The film will be directed by Michael Sucsy using an adapted script penned by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber.
Shawn Levy will produce the film.
Williams is also on the short list to play Invisible Girl in the "Fantastic Four" reboot, however, talks are said to be in the very early stages.
The comic book series is about four individuals-- Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Sue Storm (The Invisible Girl--played previously by Jessica Alba), her brother Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing).who gained superpowers after exposure to cosmic rays during a scientific mission to outer space.
Jeremy Slater was hired to pen the most recent script draft.--that Seth Grahame-Smith polished. Michael Green ("Green Lantern") also wrote a draft as well.
"Chronicle" director Josh Trank is set to helm.
"X-Men: First Class" and "Kick-Ass" director Matthew Vaughn recently signed on to produce the reset
The first Fantastic Four in 2005 and its sequel 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer in 2007--both helmed by Tim Story--grossed $620 million despite awful reviews (I liked em both!). Fox wants to restore some credibility and quality to the property, that is currently targeting a Spring 2015 release.
Williams is the daughter of NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams.
