Professor X Looks Totally Rad In "X-Men" Sequel

Director Bryan Singer posted a new "X-Men: Days of Future Past" set photo via his Twitter feed--giving us a look at James McAvoy as Professor X in 1970s



Serpico, is a reference to the 1973 Al Pacino film directed by Sidney Lumet.


The entire X-Men: First Class cast is set to reprise their roles, including Michael Fassbender (Magneto), and Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert), and Nicholas Hoult (Beast).

The original trilogy stars Sir Ian McKellen Sir Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman are already poised to return again as well. Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pride) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) Halle Berry (Storm) While it was hoped that James Marsden (Cyclops) would be back. It seems Alan Cumming.(Nightcrawler) will not return.

Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage has a key role in the film. There is speculation that he is playing bad guy Apocalypse Daniel Cudmore is returning as Colossus and BooBoo Stewart is also in the film--character as yet unknown. Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has joined the film--as Blink, a mutant with the power of teleportation. French actor Omar Sy and Adan Canto also stars

Singer penned the treatment and produced 'First Class' which was directed by Matthew Vaughn. Now, their roles will be completely reversed for this sequel with Singer helming the film while Vaughn wrote the treatment and will produce with Lauren Shuler Donner and writer Simon Kinberg.

The sequel is based on a -2 issue story arc in the 'X-Men' comics published in 1981. Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes) is on board to pen the screenplay which will include New Mutants. Magneto and his relationship with Charles X. Xavier will be front and center as well.

Production on the sequel is well underway..X-Men: Days Of Future Past" hits screens July 18th 2014.

I really, really hope that he is ignoring everything that happened in X3 and Rogue still has her powers.

Singer has said the other X-films won't be ignored while at the same time implying that X3 and the first solo Wolverine film would be... Since Future Past involves Time Travel I ezpect Rogue to have her powers.
