Chris Pratt Eyed To Play "Indiana Jones"

In March of last year there were rumors that "The Hangover" star Bradley Cooper was being eyed as a potential replacement for Harrison Ford if the "Indiana Jones" franchise were to be rebooted--rather than moving ahead with plans for a proposed Indiana Jones 5.

That notion was very quickly denied...

And then--An unidentified insider told British tabloid The Daily Star that former  Twilight film series star Robert Pattinson was Disney's top choice to replace Ford in the next adventure as the studio considers the future of the franchise:

CEO Robert A. Iger was asked by Variety last year about the notion of further adventures with Indy.

Iger said that they would "love to make another Indiana Jones movie," but they are just focusing on "Star Wars" for now.

Deadline reports that "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Chris Pratt is being eyed to take on the project. Talks are said to be only in very early stages.

Liam Hemsworth Eyes ID4 Sequel

The Wrap reports that "The Hunger Games" co-star Liam Hemsworth has reportedly been offered a starring role in Independence Day 2.

Director Roland Emmerich and co-writer and producer Dean Devlin worked on the earliest draft and then screenwriter James Vanderbilt ("The Amazing Spider-Man," "Zodiac") took a pass to polish the the duo's work. Carter Blanchard ("Glimmer," "Diver") penned a new draft of the script. No story details have been revealed yet or the characters involved.

At last report Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman, were set to reprise their roles as tech whiz David Levinson and Pullman was President Thomas J. Whitmore respectively. Actor Will Smith has decided to skip the festivities--Dean and Roland were prepping two versions of the sequel--one with Smith's character Captain Steven Hiller central to the action and one without him at all.  Smith was undecided about reprising the role That's no longer the case--Smith has reportedly told Fox that he won't be doing the sequel.

Michael B. Jordan and Randy Quaid are rumored for roles in the project with the latter reprising his role from the 1996 original  "Independence Day".

The sequel hits on June 24th 2016.

Tom Hardy will play the Soviet officer while Noomi Rapace will play his wife, who pretends to be a doting partner but is concealing many thoughts and feelings. "RoboCop" redux star Joel Kinnaman will play the killer responsible for these brutal deaths. Gary Oldman is set to play a member of the secret police who also happens to be a suspect in the case. Paddy Considine's role is unknown, Fares Fares ("Zero Dark Thirty") will play one of the trusted associates of Hardy's character. Jason Clarke would play Brodsky, a man accused of being a traitor by Hardy's character. Vincent Cassel replaced the late Philip Seymour Hoffman in the pic.

The story is based on the real life tale of Ukrainian serial killer Andrei Chikatilo aka the Rostov Ripper who was executed in 1994 for 52 murders.

Daniel Espinosa called action on the pic.

Kinnaman and Espinosa have worked together on the international hit Easy Money (a.k.a. Snabba Cash) and the action-thriller Safe House

Richard Price adapted the script.

Ridley Scott was once attached to direct and remains producer with Michael Costigan

Christopher Woodrow, Molly Conners, Maria Cestone Sarah Johnson Redlich and Douglas Urbanski are executive producers

Hardy and Rapace worked on Michael R. Roskam's film adaptation of author Dennis Lehane's short story "Animal Rescue" first.

The movie hits theaters on April 17th.

Fantastic Four Reboot: The 1st Trailer And More

As promised--The first trailer for "Chronicle" director Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" reboot is here.

The comic book series follows four individuals--Reed Richards--Mr. Fantastic (Miles Teller), Sue Storm --The Invisible Girl (Kate Mara), her brother Johnny Storm--The Human T/orch (Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan), and Ben Grimm The Thing (Jamie Bell) who gained superpowers after exposure to cosmic rays during a scientific mission to outer space.

Saoirse Ronan ("The Host")  Margot Robbie  "Girls" star Allison Williams were rumored to be circling Invisible Girl last year. Samira Wiley also denied Sue chatter. Mara and Emmy Rossum were said to have both tested for Sue Storm; Christian Cooke was eyed for Grimm. Actor Josh Gad was rumored as well but that talk was denied via Twitter

Reg E. Cathey will play Dr. Storm, the scientist father of Johnny and Sue. The film will be a reunion for Cathey and Jordan, as Jordan got his start on the cable series The Wire.

Toby Kebbell has won the role of bad guy  Doctor Doom He beat out Domhnall Gleeson, Eddie Redmayne, Sam Riley and Jack Huston for the part.

Doom is the son of a gypsy woman who ends up the ruler of a fictional country named Latveria. His character history includes attending university with Reed Richards, the man who will become the leader of the Fantastic Four Like Richards, he is a genius but with an unchecked ego.

The Nerdist reports that: "Doombots will definitely be in the film, in the form of drones that the good Doctor controls telekinetically."

First introduced in 1965, the DoomBots are robotic duplicates of Doctor Doom which he used to do battle. Over the years they've taken on various forms, which version we'll see in the film is uknown at present.

Julian McMahon played the character as Victor Von Doom in the previous big screen incarnations.

Tim Blake Nelson will play Harvey Elder, an eccentric and socially awkward scientist who is also the Mole Man, the leader of a subterranean group of monsters known as the Moloids. The Mole Man will NOT appear in this movie but his appearance does set up the character as a potential future villain.

This is not the first time Nelson has been in this position for a Marvel-related movie. In 2008's "The Incredible Hulk" he played Samuel Sterns, a reclusive scientist who is seen mutating in his final scenes which sets up the character's potential return as the villain The Leader.

Simon Kinberg ("Sherlock Holmes," "X-Men: Days of Future Past") recently finished scripting duties. Jeremy Slater was hired to pen the previous script draft.--that Seth Grahame-Smith polished. Michael Green ("Green Lantern") also wrote a draft as well.

"X-Men: First Class" and "Kick-Ass" director Matthew Vaughn signed on to produce the reset

The leads were previously portrayed by Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis. The first Fantastic Four in 2005 and its sequel 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer in 2007--both helmed by Tim Story--grossed $620 million despite awful reviews (I liked em both!)

Fox wants to restore some credibility and quality to the property, that is currently targeting an August 7th.2015 release. Vancouver lost out on the shoot for the upcoming reboot. The film's production took place in Louisiana due to tax incentives in place.

Trank spoke to  Collider about the film, calling it a "hard sci-fi take" and one that "falls in line more with a Cronenberg.-ian science fiction tale of something horrible happening to your body and [it] transforming out of control." In the film the group teleport to an alternate universe, an act which alters their physical form.

Trank has dismissed all the reports about the film's production problems, saying "the original shoot was seventy-two days and they were on-schedule and on-budget" and that the studio "consciously decided to not release anything official" until now. The additional filming recently was for "bits and pieces" and not a new ending as reported.

Writer/producer Kinberg says: "Most comic book superhero movies are about a superhero protagonist or a superhero group, But they’re never really exploring what it is to be family. That’s something we really spent a long time talking about and putting into the film. I think that will differentiate us as well from all of the different superheroes and superhero groups out there."

The costumes seem very practical. Nerdist has posted some sketches of what they dub the team's "Act II suits" which they will don for most of the movie before slipping into their "final, more classical superhero costumes". Said Act II suits include Mr. Fantastic's suit boasting fabric springs that snap his limbs back into place, and ventilation ports for Johnny Storm. These suits are designed so that the team can live normal lives without their powers being revealed.

Following the release of the trailer writer/producer Kinberg talked about the deliberately vague peek with Empire:

We live in a time of spoilers As a result, any film showing any kind of restraint with the marketing is somewhat of a rare thing. Kinberg says the delays were deliberate:

"What we're doing is quite different, and we want people to get a sense of it. There is a mystery, and the slow immersion into that is part of the experience of what will ultimately be the movie. We wanted it to feel different and represent what's unique about the film. It has a little more restraint, maybe, than some other trailers these days."

Kinberg also adds that part of the reason for keeping things so much under wraps is that they're aware of all the scrutiny they're under and so don't want anything half-finished leaking out:

"We wanted the visual effects to be as complete as possible. We know this movie is going to have a little more scrutiny than most, and we wanted to make sure the visuals represented what Josh really pictured for the film. Creating a fully CGI Thing is no easy task."

The trailer confirms the film will follow the "Ultimate Fantastic Four" origin elements with inter-dimensional travel causing the quartet to gain their powers.

Kinberg won't say whether the group will acquire their codenames like 'Mr. Fantastic' or 'The Human Torch' in the film:

"We want some of that to be a surprise. It is in many ways an origin story, but it’s also about how they react to this transformation, and the ways the world does or doesn’t react to them, which is different, I would say, than all other superhero films.”

Ryan Reynolds Talks About The "Deadpool" Flick

The long-in-development "X-Men" film series spin-off "Deadpool" is finally moving ahead.

Ryan Reynolds stars as the wise-cracking mercenary with a wicked sense of humor.

Reynolds first played Deadpool in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" as an earlier incarnation different to the one that will appear in the upcoming solo movie. Since "X-Men: Days of Future Past" rewinds the events chronicled in XO, the folks in charge are free from explaining what went on with the character in that movie.

Reynolds told MTV News that all the delays have been worth it and the way in which the film's current incarnation has come together allows those involved to tell the story they want to tell:

"It has been a long time, but it's happening the right way, and that's all that matters. The budget isn't what we all hoped it would be... We don't have the money that most superhero movies do, but that's great, actually. You know, necessity's the mother of invention and that's why we get to make the movie we want to make. You gotta just have faith in the people you're working with, and faith in the prep, and that's all I'm doing. On this one, the prep's been eleven years. So, you know, you'd like to think that you're putting your best foot forward, but we'll see."

The actor also made a joke about the test footage that leaked online for the film, a leak which got the project rolling again:

"Yeah, I would've leaked that footage myself. Looking back now? In a heartbeat. I should go home and scan the old hard drive and see what I got in there!".

Funny man T.J. Miller and Game of Thrones and "The Transporter Legacy" star Ed Skrein are in early talks to join the film. Miller's role is said to serve as an additional comic voice to compliment Deadpool, who often breaks the fourth wall and speaks to the audience. Talks with Skrein  are said to be further along but his exact role remains unknown.

Tim Miller is due to direct at some point using a script penned by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick ("Zombieland"). X-Men  producer Lauren Shuler Donner is doing her thing here as well.

The "Deadpool" film is currently scheduled for release om February 12th, 2016.

"Star Wars" Spin Off #1: New Scribe & New SPOILERS

We recently found out that Gary Whitta is no longer writing the script for Godzilla helmer Gareth Edwards' Star Wars spin-off #1.

Slashfilm suggested that Simon Kinberg ("X-Men: Days of Future Past," "Sherlock Holmes," "Mr. and Mrs. Smith") would take on the job--but his schedule prevents that.

Instead Heat Vision reports that Chris Weitz ("About A Boy," "Cinderella") will pen the next draft.

POSSIBLE MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD

A while back chatter suggested the film will feature a team of bounty hunters and include a young Han Solo and his wookie co-pilot Chewbacca. Then more noise came that suggested the spinoff will focus on a team of bounty hunters hired by the Rebels to steal the plans of the first Death Star, as a result viewers would see the Millennium Falcon in action during the movie.

Sources for Bad Ass Digest said that the film "is about a group of 'pirates' as opposed to 'bounty hunters,' which could easily include young Mr. Solo." So rather than focusing on a group of characters like those we saw in "The Empire Strikes Back," we'd follow a team of likable rogues akin to James Gunn's film adaptation of Marvel 's Guardians of the Galaxy"

Latino Review reports that according to their sources, both Boba Fett and Solo will be featured in this untitled spinoff. Said film will NOT revolve around stealing the plans for the first Death Star as had been previously indicated, but rather is reportedly set before that event. .

They say the story will deal with the relationships between Han, Boba and other criminals - specifically The Hutts which could "kick off a new series of Star Wars movies."

Meantime, Making Star Wars reports that the film will be shot in Mexico, and that "bounty hunters are important to the film." Crew members are also expected to redress some of the sets from J J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" for use in the spinoff which will reportedly shoot under the code name "Los Alamos."

There is speculation that said Mexico location may be used to stand in for the planet Geonosis, the planet we saw in 'Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones" where the plans for the Death Star were created and where Jango Fett body is.

END SPOILERS

No plot details have been officially disclosed yet by Disney/Lucasfilm.

Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul is rumored to star in the film. His role in the film was not specified. The actor used Twitter to deny the rumor. Earlier this month we learned that Rooney Mara, Felicity Jones and Tatiana Maslany were testing for the female lead in the picture. Days later Variety reporter Justin Kroll said via his Twitter feed that Mara's sister and "House of Cards" co-star Kate Mara apparently tested for the role as well.

Production on the project is expected to get underway at Pinewood Studio sometime in 2015, likely after the currently shooting James Bond film "Spectre" wraps. It is currently targeting a
December 16th 2016 release.

RDJ Talks "Captain America: Civil War"

Just as "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" rattled the Marvel Cinematic Universe putting the events we will see in  Joss Whedon's superhero team up sequel "The Avengers: Age of Ultron"--next year's "Captain America: Civil War" will set up the subsequent Avengers: Infinity War - Part I / Avengers: Infinity War - Part II.

The 3rd Cap film will be an adaptation of the Captain America: Civil War storyline that sees Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) at odds with Captain America (Chris Evans) over the Superhero Registration Act - a law that forces anyone with superhuman abilities to reveal their identities to the U.S. government and agree to act as a police force for the authorities. Stark supports the program, Rogers does not because it threatens civil liberties. As a result Rogers and various others go on the run to avoid arrest. The life of Cap's girlfriend, Agent 13  (Revenge star Emily VanCamp), is torn apart as her superiors use her divided loyalties against her. Elsewhere, a new villain emerges; the Red Skull begins to make himself known; and The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) again comes face-to-face with Cap....

Badass Digest says that despite the presence of RDJ's in the film Stan's Winter Soldier is still a central figure in the action.

In a new chat with Empire, RDJ. says 'Ultron' will lay the ground work for Stark's turn to the 'dark side':

"It's natural to change your views. The main thing to me is, what sort of incident could occur, and what sort of framework could we find Tony in? The clues about where we might find him next are in Ultron. But what would it take for Tony to completely turn around everything he's stood for? Joss  brings this up all the time. It's kind of weird that these guys would have all these throw downs all over planet Earth and yet when the movie's over, nobody minds. What would the American government do if this were real? Wouldn't it be interesting to see Tony doing something you wouldn't imagine?"

Downey also said that had he decided not to do 'Civil War,' the film would have been quite different:

"They said to me, 'If we have you, we can do this, or Cap 3 has to be something else.' It's nice to feel needed. And at this point it's about helping each other, too. I look at it as a competition and I go, 'Wow, maybe if these two franchises teamed up and I can take even a lesser position, with people I like and directors I respect, maybe we can keep things bumping along.'"

Chadwick Boseman will also be playing Black Panther in the film before getting that solo flick all to himself. Anthony Mackie is poised to reprise the role Harlem crime fighter Falcon.Frank Grillo is set to reprise his role as S.H.I.E.L.D; operative Brock Rumlow, who becomes the villain Crossbones. Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow are also due to return. The casting of Daniel BrĂŒhl in a villain role has led to speculation that he has taken over the role of Red Skull.

There's an apparent leak of a casting call sheet from "Cap Civil War" at MovieCastingCall.org that suggests that Bruhl will instead play iconic Marvel villain Baron Zemo in the film.

The adapted script comes from Cap vets Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely from which Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Anthony and Joe Russo will call action.

Production on Cap 3 is slated to begin in Atlanta and run from April to August to meet a May 6th 2016 release.

"Mission: Impossible 5" Joins 2015 Summer Movie Roster

Paramount Pictures has moved up the release date of "Mission: Impossible 5"--a full five months earlier than originally planned.

This is reportedly the role Jessica Chastain turned down to scheduling, The role requires months of intense training leading up to and during production. Alec Baldwin will play a high-ranking CIA official who oversees Cruise's division. British character actor Sean Harris ("The Borgias," "Deliver Us From Evil," "Prometheus") is set to play the villain. Simon McBurney will portray the boss of Ferguson's character.

Christopher McQuarrie ("Jack Reacher") is directing MI #5 from a script by video game scribe Will Staples. Drew Pearce penned the initial script.

The filmmakers behind the action sequel have reportedly closed a deal to film inside the Houses of Parliament in London - the first motion picture to do so. Until this year, filming on the site was forbidden. The Shard and Olympic Stadium are also being scouted as well. This would also mark the film series' return to London since the first film in 1996 Paramount has not confirmed this report. Some filming has also taken place in Morocco.

The Daily Mail posted photos of the 52-year-old Cruise doing a very risky stunt for the sequel. Wearing two thin safety harnesses, a designer suit and slippery leather shoes, Cruise was filmed clinging to the side of an Airbus A400M military transport plane as it flew 5,000 feet off the ground

Cruise, David Ellison and J.J. Abrams are producing.

Emma Watson is officially set to play Belle in the live-action re-interpretation of Beauty and the Beast  for Disney.

Called "The Beast", the film will be on the darker side of the 1991 animated classic - yet still retain the big-budget fantasy elements that have made Maleficent "Alice in Wonderland" and "Oz The Great and Powerful" smash hits for the Mouse House. Live action versions of "Cinderella" and The Jungle Book are on the way as well.

Bill Condon ("Dreamgirls") has signed on to direct while "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" writer/director Stephen Chbosky wrote the latest script draft

Watson had been attached to Guillermo del Toro's adaptation of the story at Warner Bros called "Beauty" but that project stalled last year. Del Toro apparently gave Watson his blessing for her to jump to the Disney version.

More "Suicide Squad" Casting Rumors

Despite those casting woes for Fury and "End of Watch" director David Ayer's film version of DC Entertainment's "Suicide Squad" comic book over at Warner Bros. He isn't letting it get the better of him.

On Friday, Ayer tweeted a photo of his office showing that he's in the middle of drafting the script and creating storyboards for the movie.

Meantime over the weekend, Joblo posted some new casting rumors for the pic. Sources say Ed Harris and Max Martini ("Pacific Rim") are under consideration to play the father of Rick Flag, while Karl Urban has been added as a potential candidate to play Rick. Urban joins former "The Walking Dead" co-star Jon Bernthal and Joel Edgerton ("The Great Gatsby") who potentially could fill that void left after Jake Gyllenhaal passed on replacing Tom Hardy as team leader Flagg. Bernthal previously worked with Ayer on "Fury" and was originally suggested for the role last year before Hardy was cast.

They also indicate that The Thinker will also be in the film and Geoffrey Rush has already apparently passed on the role. On top of that,Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) joins  Joe Manganiello (“True Blood,” Magic Mike Xxl) as a potential candidate for the role of Deathstroke- a hired assassin competing with the Suicide Squad in the movie.

The comic created by John Ostrander centers on incarcerated villains from the DC universe being recruited as deniable assets by the Government to go on high-risk black ops missions in exchange for more lenient or even commuted sentences. Amanda Waller ("The Help" and "How to Get Away with Murder" star Viola Davis) a prison warden and government agent is in charge of the program.

Davis beat out both Oprah Winfrey and Octavia Spencer for the Waller role.

Oscar winner Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) is playing the role of The Joker--Ryan Gosling was originally up for the role, but he was "unwilling to sign a deal with options for multiple movies" Joker was last portrayed by the late Heath Ledger who gave an Academy Award-winning performance in The Dark Knight. Leto was also in the running to play the lead in Marvel's long gestating Doctor Strange movie--a role that Sherlock and "Star Trek Into Darkness" star Benedict Cumberbatch now has.

"The Wolf of Wall Street" actress Margot Robbie will play Harley Quinn  In the DC mythology Quinn is sidekick to The Clown Prince Of Crime.Robbie has been on the radar to take a role in the film shortly after the project was announced. The Quinn character was not in the early drafts of the script.

British model and actress Cara Delevingne was circling the role as well--but instead she will play
a sorceress named Enchantress.

Will Smith is tipped to play Floyd Lawton, aka. the assassin Deadshot. Australian actor Jai Courtney ("A Good Day To Die Hard," "Divergent") lands the role of Digger Harkness a.k.a. Captain Boomerang.

Despite earlier reports, Jesse Eisenberg is not part of the official cast, but that doesn't rule out a potential cameo appearance as Lex Luthor Eisenberg plays Lex in Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice"

Ayer is performing re-writes of an initial script by Justin Marks.

Dan Lin is producing the pic with Charles Roven.

Pre-production gets underway in February ahead of filming which will take place at Pinewood Toronto Studios from mid-April to September of this year. The film has an August 5th 2016 release date planned.

The Strangers 2 Gets Going Again

After years stuck in development, the long-delayed sequel to Bryan Bertino's low-budget horror flick "The Strangers" is moving ahead.

The original pic starred Scott Speedman and Liv Tyler  as a young couple terrorized by three masked assailants who break into the remote summer home in which they are staying and cut off all means of escape.

Made for just $9 million, the film had a number of release delays before getting its theatrical release in May 2008 where it went on to gross $82 million worldwide.

The Wrap has it that Marcel Langenegger is in negotiations to direct The Strangers 2 using a script by Ben Ketai ("Chosen").

This time the action follows a family with a troubled teenage daughter who travel to a mobile home park that her aunt and uncle run. When they arrive, they find their relatives bodies - victims of a recent visit from the three masked strangers. That night becomes a race for the family to escape the trio.

Roy LeeDoug Davison, Nathan Kahane and Trevor Macy are returning to produce.

Production will begin this Spring.

Is This The "Dark Universe" Movie Roster?

It has been awhile since we have heard anything about director Guillermo del Toro's Dark Universe--a movie that will bring together second string characters from DC Comics--ala` The Avengers or Justice League but with a darker supernatural tone.

Now, El Mayimbe from Latino Review claims that the characters of John Constantine, Zatanna, Brand/Deadman and Jason Blood will be in this first film.

None of these characters have not been confirmed by the Warner Bros yet. We also don't know if the project is part of either the already in progress DC Cinematic Universe or a rumored separate shared universe featuring only characters from Vertigo Comics titles.

The story will reportedly deal with Jason Blood's history with Merlin and King Arthur's knights, but bring the threat to present day.

The news comes as the fate of NBC's "Constantine," TV series starring as John Constantine, is very much in doubt and its renewal is unlikely.

X-Men: Apocalypse: Young Mutants Chatter

Last week we learned that Alexandra Shipp will play the young Storm.Tye Sheridan will play Cyclops. and Sophie Turner will play Jean Grey in Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse".

Chloe Moretz, Hailee Steinfeld, Elle Fanning, Ben Hardy, Charlie Rowe Taron Egerton ("Kingsman: The Secret Service), Jamie Blackley ("If I Stay") Alexandra Shipp Zendaya Coleman, Saoirse Ronan and Timothee Chalamet were each the mix to play a young mutant before the final choices were made.

The adult incarnations of the characters were played by Halle Berry, Famke Janssen and James Marsden in various chapters of the film series.

Turner spoke with Access Hollywood about how she learned that she got the part:

"I was getting out of the car to walk in to the audition. And then my agent started ringing and she was like 'Have you heard the news?' 'No, what news?' Then she was like 'Check your Twitter'. So then I checked it and… I was just getting like, 'Congratulations Jean Grey.' Then I just started crying and I messed up the whole audition because I was just like, 'I can't speak!'."

Turner says that she is "really trying to emulate" Janssen's portrayal of Jean Grey in the previous films since Janssen "did such a great job and I just hope I do justice to this incredible character."

Meantime, Marsden talked with Hitfix about the casting of Sheridan as the younger version of his character:

"I think he's a wonderfully talented actor who blew me away in 'Mud.' I've never seen a kid that young be that present and that powerful. So I think he’s a perfect fit, and I congratulate him."

Finally, Shipp posted a video via her Instagram account showing off her preparation for her role in the project.

The younger actors introduced in "X-Men: First Class" James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto) Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast) and Lucas Till (Alex “Havok” Summers), etc. are contracted for three films and are locked in to return.

This time the mutants will take on Apocalypse, aka. En Sabah Nur (Oscar Isaac). In the comics, En Sabah Nur is the world's first mutant who was born in Egypt around 3,000 BC and had access to advanced technology. The events of the film take place in the 80's

We were told that the studio originally wanted "Inception" and "The Dark Knight Rises" actor Tom Hardy to play the bad guy in the film. The character was teased in the post-credits scene of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (Played by Brendan Pedder).

It is likely that Channing Tatum will debut as the X-Men mutant Gambit here before getting a solo film

"X2: X-Men United" and "Superman Returns" screenwriters Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris as well as Simon Kinberg are writing the script for "Apocalypse" .

Production is slated to begin in April in Montreal. The film will hit theaters on May 27, 2016 opposite Alice in Wonderland 2

"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" Goodies

The latest issue of Empire Magazine boasts a fresh peek at Joss Whedon's superhero team up sequel "The Avengers: Age of Ultron"--including new photos from the film.

Whedon tells the magazine that he's taking a break from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after 'Ultron' is done and dusted. So, don't expect him to be back for "Avengers: Infinity War":

"I couldn't imagine doing this again. It's enormously hard, and it be, by then, a good five years since I created anything that was completely my own. So it's very doubtful that I would take on the two-part Infinity War movie that would eat up the next four years of my life. I obviously still want to be a part of the Marvel Universe - I love these guys - but it ain't easy. This year has been more like running three shows than any year of my life. It is bonkers."

The sequel DOES NOT follow the Age of Ultron comics storyline--in which the big bad Ultron was created by Hank Pym who becomes Ant-Man. James Spader will both voice Ultron, and he'll have to do some kind of motion-capture as well--This news puts to rest the most popular theory suggesting that Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr,) robot butler J.A.R.V.I.S. (voiced by Paul Bettany) operating system from the Iron Man Films would turn into the villain.

Marvel vets RDJ, Chris Evans Chris Hemsworth Scarlett Johansson Samuel L. Jackson Jeremy Renner Mark Ruffalo, Clark Gregg and Cobie Smulders are all back Two time Iron Man co-star Don Cheadle is involved this time out according to USA Today. Bettany will appear on screen as The Vision an android created by Ultron as a weapon to be used against the Avengers. Vision can fire beams of radiation and turn invisible--the character ultimately turned the tables on Ultron and became an Avengers member himself.

TV's Hulk Lou Ferrigno has confirmed that he'll return to do the voice of the big guy in the sequel. Ferrigno has said four words as the character so far - "Hulk Smash" in 2008's "The Incredible Hulk" and "Puny God" in "The Avengers".

Thomas Kretschmann has landed the role of 2nd bad guy Baron von Strucker. In the comics, the seemingly immortal Strucker is one of the leaders of Hydra, and an enemy of both S.H.I.E.L.D and The Avengers He seemingly beat out rumored candidates Marton Csokas and Dougray Scott who were being considered for the BvS role. The character will have Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and her twin brother Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) apparently working for him in the sequel (American Horror Story favorite Evan Peters plays a different incarnation of the speedy superhero in Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Days of Future Past"--in a very cool sequence in the film). Korean actress  will play a bad gal role.

Two big unanswered questions from the second trailer for "Ultron" has been who is that mysterious woman taking off that robe in the cave, and What is Andy Serkis' mystery character.

The site Schmoes Know claim to have the answer to both....

In regards to the mysterious woman, it appears she could be Mantis. If true, it would setup a link between Marvel's Avengers and its cosmic characters as in the comics she has strong ties to Vision, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Thanos (Josh Brolin) and the Guardians of the Galaxy

In regard to Serkis' character they say it is that of Ulysses Klaw- a character who will be much more  important in the "Black Panther" solo flick.

Just days ago sources told the site that while Serkis is playing Klaw in the film, his character is an amalgamation of both Klaw and his father Colonel Fritz Klaue from the comics.

At the time they said: "Fritz could possibly have a small appearance in the film or a passing reference, but most of his attributes will be given to Serkis' Klaw."

In the comics, Fritz Klaue is connected to Baron Von Strucker.

Schmoesknow states today that they can now confirm that Serkis will indeed be playing Ulysses Klaw in the film.

Finally, Bettany talked about the film and says that it is the most ambitious project Marvel has attempted yet. He tells The Radio Times:

"I've never been on a bigger set on my entire life than in The Avengers [Age of Ultron]. One part seemed to be the corner of a town, with helicopter cameras, and drone cameras flying about. I just haven't seen anything that big, so it was like being a kid on a film set again...This is the biggest thing Marvel have ever done. It was enormous."

Radar Online has an unidentified source that claims that RDJ was campaigning to get his pals Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster a role in the movie.

Latino Review has posted what appears to be details about the film's opening 15-20 minutes (SPOILERS).

Post-production on the 'Avengers 2' continues to meet a release date of May 1, 2015
