Film site Cinema Blend says it has a casting scoop for Angels & Demons...Is Orlando Bloom (pictured) teaming up with Tom Hanks for The Da Vinci Code prequel?
Their source says that Bloom is in talks to join the cast. The blockbuster is due in late 2008. Bloom would be a lucky guy--if he takes on the film, Super-Beauty Gisele Bündchen has been said to be circling the project as well...
Speculation as to Bloom's role has him playing that of the Illuminati Hassassin - the antagonist for much of the first two-thirds of the story. If that's the case this would be a real change of pace for Bloom's career. Up until now, he's been playing mostly good guys.
Keep in mind that Cinema Blend had Bloom up for a villain role in the Superman sequel--Superman: The Man of Steel--almost 4 months ago...
