Flock Locked

Disturbia's three week run as the #1 movie in the land is paying out some dividends for one of the film's writers...

Pamela McClintock of Variety:

Fresh off the success of "Disturbia," scribe Christopher B. Landon [pictured] is set to pen psychological thriller "The Flock" for Warner Independent Pictures. Jason Blum's Blumhouse is producing.

Studio specialty arm picked up the project based on Landon's pitch.

Set in contemporary times, story revolves around three teens accused of practicing witchcraft. Girls endure terrifying consequences as a result of the ensuing hysteria and scapegoating.

Blum is producer. Steven Schneider is exec producing.

Landon penned "Disturbia" with Carl Ellsworth based on a story by Landon. The DreamWorks thriller has done strong business at the box office, earning $60.1 million...

Landon's past writing credits include "Another Day in Paradise."...

This project is not to be confused with this 2007 flick of the same name...

Considering Landon's (he is the son of the late Michael Landon) brief resume--this is quite a feat--based on a pitch no less. As for the premise...It's been some 11 years since the witches of The Craft hit theaters...I hope the Flock is a lot more exciting than that '96 flick turned out to be.
