Miller's Next Payout

Breaking late today: Comic book industry maverick and icon Frank Miller is about to see another one of his great stories adapted for the big screen...

Michael Fleming of Variety has the preliminary details...

After turning the Frank Miller graphic novel "300" into a hit, Warner Bros. has optioned the rights to Miller's "Ronin:" for a live action feature that will be directed by Sylvain White ("Stomp The Yard").

The title character is a disgraced samurai from the 13th Century who is reborn in New York circa 2064.

There, he must destroy a demon who has also been unleashed in
[the city], one that carries a sword with mystical powers.

The graphic novel was published by
DC Comics.

Given 300's success, I'm not at all surprised by this news, really..That said White makes for an inspired choice to call the shots here. As is the case with any work by Miller--it will present the filmmakers with some unique challenges as they bring the story to life. Stay Tuned...
