Jennifer Lawrence is reportedly the front runner for a major role in David O. Russell's "The Silver Linings Playbook" says Deadline.
"The Fighter" actor Mark Wahlberg will star in Russell’s adaptation of Matthew Quick's 2008 book of the same name
The story follows a delusional former high school history teacher who's just been released into the custody of his mom. Believing that he’s only been away for a few months instead of the four years he just spent in a mental institution, the teacher sets about wooing back his ex-wife. but becomes involved with an eccentric neighbor (Lawrence) with problems of her own.
She seemingly beat out Elizabeth Banks, Kirsten Dunst, Blake Lively, Rooney Mara, Rachel McAdams, Andrea Riseborough, Olivia Wilde who also tested for the role. Angelina Jolie is reportedly in talks, presumably to play the ex-wife.
Lawrence will shoot the film this Fall after "The Hunger Games" wraps
