Based upon the award winning KLGoing novel--The story follow a friendless fat teen Troy Billings (Jacob Wysocki) who is so downhearted he's planning to end it all when he's saved by a chance encounter with Marcus Macrae (O’Leary), a charismatic but unreliable 18-year-old punk rocker who adopts Troy as his newly cool pal and changes Troy's life forever. This despite the protestations of Troy’s dad (Campbell), who is convinced that Marcus is a drug addict and menace.
Michael Galvin and Peter Speakman adapted the script.
Rick Rosenthal and Nick Morton are producing the film with Lillard.
The film is currently shooting in Seattle.
