Channing Tatum Directs His First Movie

The Wrap reports that Channing Tatum is in talks to both star in and co-direct the film adaptation of author Norwegian author Jo Nesbo's upcoming novel called The Son.


The story follows an incarcerated young man who took the rap for crimes others committed. His father, a corrupt cop, commits suicide. When the son learns his father was actually an honest man who was murdered, he escapes to avenge the killing and rectify the crimes to which he confessed.

Tatum's longtime collaborator Reid Carolin would co-direct the film with him.

A writer search is underway to pen the adapted script.

Kevin McCormick is producing the pic.

The novel hits retail in May
