Oscar nominated actress Vera Farmiga will step behind the camera for her directorial debut as well as act in a film called Higher Ground reports Production Weekly. Based on Carolyn S. Briggs' memoir "This Dark World", the story follows Briggs who became a part of a born-again Christian hippie contingent and later found herself at odds with her faith due to her church's increasingly dogmatic practices.
Filming kicks off in Upstate New York in June
