James Gray ("Two Lovers," "We Own the Night") and actor/director Guillaume Canet are set to team on the English-language remake of 2008 French film "Rivals" (aka. Les liens du sang) reports The Playlist.
The remake called "Blood Ties" is set in the 1980's and follows two brothers, one a pimp and the other a cop, with the former being the family favorite.
Canet starred in the original and will work with Gray on the script of the remake.
Canet's next film, "Little White Lies", opens this Fall.While Gray's long-gestating adaptation of "The Lost City of Z" is still in the works and they're presently seeking funding.
