Bureau of Moving Pictures has acquired the rights to make a biopic about the life of one of my industry heroes Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling reports Deadline.
Aftter a tour of duty during World War II Serling returned to the States and worked his way into radio before becoming a TV writer.
Of course the sci-fi anthology series "The Twilight Zone" has had a major influence on many film and TV writers and directors to this day.
Serling was also responsible for the similar TV anthology "Night Gallery" a decade later, and he co-wrote the 1968 sci-fi classic "Planet of the Apes".
He died at 50 due to his chain-smoking habit.
Stanley Weiser will write the movie while Serling's widow Carol Serling and with Andrew Meieran will produce
