Jurassic World: It's The Return Of Dr.Wu...Who?

Actor Bd Wong will reprise his role as Dr. Henry Wu in the sequel "Jurassic World".

The events are said to take place Isla Nublar, the site of John Hammond's (Richard Attenborough) Jurassic Park theme park, rather than Isla Sorna of the two previous sequels.

Speaking with IGN, the film's director Colin Trevorrow says:

"He had a much larger role in the original novel, he was the engineer of this breakthrough in de-extinction. He spent two decades living in Hammond’s shadow, under appreciated. We think there’s more to his story."

Asked about whether he would be bringing back other characters, Trevorrow says:

"I know a lot of fans want to see the original characters back. They're iconic. But I respect those actors too much to shoehorn them into this story for my own sentimental reasons. Jurassic Park isn't about the bad luck of three people who keep getting thrown into the same situation. The only reason they'd go back to that island is if the screenwriters contrived a reason for them to go."

Chris Pratt will play a rugged ex-military man, who spars with Bryce Dallas Howard's corporate scientist.  Melissa & Joey and The Kings of Summer star Nick Robinson is poised to play the older brother of Ty Simpkins, the 12-year-old actor that befriended Robert Downey Jr. in "Iron Man 3".The boys are in turn Howard’s nephews. Josh Brolin was first in line for Pratt's role but a deal could not be reached. Vincent D'Onofrio will play the villain in the sequel. Irrfan Khan has landed an unspecified role in the project as well.

Trevorrow also talked a little bit about Pratt's character:

"He's a classic hero in a very modern context. He's the guy who will get you through the jungle alive – but like Malcolm, Grant and Sattler, he's an expert in a scientific field that's connected to our story. The character allows us to explore some new ideas about our relationship with these animals, without losing the humor and sense of adventure. He's a great contrast for Bryce Dallas Howard's character, who starts off very corporate, very controlled. Until the running and screaming starts. Then they need each other."

"New Girl" and "Drinking Buddies" star Jake Johnson also may star. "Pacific Rim" and "Luther" star Idris Elba came up in a casting notice recently. Jason Schwartzman is rumored for a role in the sequel. David Oyelowo is said to had a meeting about the flick as well. There's nothing official just yet though.

Originally slated for June 2014, the sequel was delayed due to further work being need on the super secret script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes)--not to mention an already too tight schedule.

Trevorrow wrote the revised screenplay with Derek Connolly

Steven Spielberg, who directed Jurassic Park and its sequel The Lost World: Jurassic Park, will executive produce here. Jurassic Park III was brought to the screen by Joe Johnston.

Filming on the new "Jurassic Park" is slated to begin this Spring. Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley will produce the dino sequel set to hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
