Trix Of The Trade

Christina Ricci has officially joined the cast of Larry and Andy Wachowski's live action adaptation of the popular 1960s cartoon "Speed Racer" for Warner Bros. Pictures and producer Joel Silver writes The Hollywood Reporter.

Emile Hirsch, Susan Sarandon and John Goodman are already on board the project.

Ricci is set to play the crucial role of Speed's girlfriend Trixie, his formidable ally on and off the track. The Wachowskis, who are writing and directing the movie, are setting up for a Summer shoot in Berlin with a May 2008 release.

Ricci makes for a great choice as Trixie--I can totally see her in the part...
