Collins Is NOT Evil; Bardem NOT Despicable

It seems that Lily Collins has dropped out of negotiations to join Federico Alvarez's remake of The Evil Dead says THR.

Like the 1981classic, the story centers on five friends who journey up to a remote cabin where they discover the Book of the Dead and unwittingly unleash demonic forces.

Collins was to play Mia, a drug addict who is not handling withdrawl very well.  Talks stalled due to the dreaded “scheduling issues."

Alvarez, Rodolfo Sayagues, and Diablo Cody worked on the script--Cody said via Twitter that the script is “unbelievably violent.”

Original star Bruce Campbell director Sam Raimi, and Robert G. Tapert are producing the redux.

Production will kick off in March in New Zealand.

In the same article it is also reported that Javier Bardem, who was in negotiations to lend his voice to the CG animated sequel Despicable Me 2  has left the pic

"He was going to voice a villain called El Macho"

The sequel is expected to hit theaters on July 3, 2013.
