Spielberg Set For Moses Movie

He has been circling the project for months and now it seems that Steven Spielberg will indeed direct the bible epic "Gods and Kings" says Deadline.

Spielberg is said to be "near to etching in stone" that he will do the film

Michael Green and Stuart Hazeldine wrote the script which wants to tell the entire story of Moses life, all the way from birth to death and covers everything from freeing of the Hebrew slaves, the plagues in Egypt, the ten commandments and the decades wandering the wilderness.

The pic sees Moses portrayed as one of history's great warriors. It will also be gritty and realistic like Spielberg's own "Saving Private Ryan"--rather than the way Charlton Heston previously portrayed him in the 1956 classic "The Ten Commandments" and Sir Ben Kingsley played him in the 1995 TV movie "Moses". Think Braveheart sensibilities

Dan Lin and Matti Leshem were originally attached to produce

Production could begin by March/April 2013.

Spielberg just finished directing "Lincoln" and is already at work on "Robopocalypse".
