Another "300" Sequel In The Works?

300: Rise Of An Empire star Sullivan Stapleton tells Deadline that he hopes there will be another sequel since there's plenty of story left to tell:

"As for the sequel, it's a huge story, and those battles between the Greeks and Persians went on for years and years. I hope to God we do another sequel. If we don't, hopefully they put me in another film."

Stapleton plays General Themistocles in the film. He is currently recuperating from an injury in Bangkok ahead of completing his filming commitments on the final season of Cinemax's "Strike Back".

Meantime "300" producer Mark Canton says there's already talk of a third film in that series along with a sequel to "Immortals".

In terms of "Immortals 2," he tells Collider that any sequel has to have the right story or they won't do it. Right now though they're just working on ideas and are talking to writers, but there's no rush.

As for a third "300," he says the hope is it will be out faster than the seven years it took the current sequel to hit. "I think [the public] are going to come out of this one wanting more."

Budgeted at $110 million, "300: Rise of an Empire" took in $140 million in global box-office in its first weekend.
