Actress Karen Gillan has dismissed comparisons between director James Gunn's film adaptation of Marvel's "Guardians Of The Galaxy" comic and "The Avengers".
The Guardians of the Galaxy comic book follows a US pilot who ends up in space during a universal conflict, then is forced to go on the run with a band of futuristic alien ex-cons.
In a chat with Total Film, Gillan says: "What's different about the Guardians is that, all the heroes, everybody [in the movie] is a bad guy. There's just good guys within the bad guys."
Gillan also addressed the rumor of the Guardians facing off against the Avengers sooner than expected: "That sounds really cool, [but it's] not something I've heard anything about, though."
Chris Pratt is Peter Quill/Star-Lord-The character is an interplanetary policeman and the Guardians leader who is born of a human mother and alien father.
WWE superstar Dave Bautista plays Drax the Destroyer who born as the human Arthur Douglas, whose family was attacked and murdered by the villainous Thanos (seen in the credt post-script of The Avengers). Arthur's spirit was then placed into a powerful new body by Kronos, which resulted in Drax the Destroyer's creation. The superhero's powers include incredible strength and the ability to emit energy blasts from his hands.
Zoe Saldana is Gamora a "green-skinned humanoid who is the last of a species that was exterminated by a race known as the Badoon" who also "happens to be a skilled assassin."
"The Walking Dead" fave Michael Rooker plays Yondu Udonta who first appeared in a 1969. He hails from the Zatoan tribe on Centauri IV, the first planet to be colonized outside of the Sun's solar system in the 29th Century. Yondu does not possess any super-human abilities, but he is a skilled hunter with a bow and arrow, and has a mystical "sixth sense" that gives him limited empathic abilities with other life forms. He is one of the founding members of the group.
The lovely Ophelia Lovibond plays "The Collector" who "gathers artifacts and beings in the hopes of saving them from a foretold galactic annihilation."
John C. Reilly has been offered the role of Rhomann Dey in the film who is said to be "Agent Coulson of the 'Guardians' movies," a human agent who serves as a go-between with S.H.I.E.L.D. This is quite different from the comic character, described as an alien centurion in the Nova Corps. There's were reports that the studio was interested in either Hugh Laurie, Alan Rickman or Ken Watanabe to play the role of a colleague of the Dey's.
Glenn Close is "playing a leadership role in Nova Corp, the intergalactic space patrol. ... Close’s role would be the closest thing to the one that Samuel L. Jackson plays in Avengers movie.
Benicio Del Toro is playing The Collector. who is billions of years old and does exactly that - collect rare or valuable items from across the universe. He also has the power of prophecy and created a museum of countless life forms to keep them safe from Thanos.
Lee Pace is playing Ronan The Accussor is an alien Kree with superhuman powers. He was a villain, but has become more heroic in the comics - so he'll probably have an arc in the film.
Gillan is set to play Nebula a space pirate and the apparent granddaughter of Thanos.
Vin Diesel will be providing the voice for Groot who can absorb wood to gain strength, as well as control trees. The surprise here is that the is not as high as profile a role as many though it was going to be.
Bradley Cooper will provide the voice for Rocket Raccoon who has a penchant for big guns and is also a master tactician. He’s best friends with Groot and in the comics was captain of a starship.
Gregg Henry also stars.
Screenwriter Chris McCoy was hired to rewrite the Nicole Perlman’s original script.
Production is underway in London The film arrives August 1, 2014.

Goldberg And Rogen Talk Mock Pixar Flick
"This Is the End" co-directors Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen are on the stump for the comedy newly out on disc.
The duo was asked by Movieweb about their recently announced animated comedy "Sausage Party".
The story follows a supermarket sausage who goes on an epic journey to get back to his isle before the 4th of July, and reunite with his pack of friends.
Goldberg said:
"Sausage Party is an existential mock-Pixar movie that we are about to make, and we are very, very proud of it. Its our opus. Its like Mr. Holland's Opus! It's our take on a Pixar movie. It is very, very R rated."
Not that Goldberg has anything against Pixar:
"I wish there were fifty Pixar movies every year. But listen, someone should take those mother--effers down a notch. Those high and mighty bastards. We're mocking all animated movies, with a special eye on Pixar."
Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan will direct.
Megan Ellison, Rogen, Goldberg and Vernon will produce the film.
A Summer 2015 release is being targeted.

Captain America: Atwell Keen On More "Peggy Carter"!!
A few weeks ago Marvel co-president Louis D'Esposito said that the company was considering a TV series with actress Hayley Atwell reprising her role of Peggy Carter from Captain America: The First Avenger and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". The notion is based on the reaction to the "One-Shot: Agent Carter" short made for the "Iron Man 3" Blu-ray.
Now, Atwell seems excited about the idea. She tells Digital Spy:
"I read about that too. The one-shot was so successful, the fanbase were like, 'We want more of Peggy!.' I think Marvel probably take that very seriously, and it's certainly something I would be a part of doing. I'd be interested to show different sides of Peggy. Although she's kick-ass, and she can be aggressive and she can be just as competent as the men, it'd be nice to show that she's a feminist in a way. It's not just about her being aggressive and as aggressive as the men in those action sequences, but being able to be a little bit more rounded as a person. I think she could be a great role model and a great member of the Marvel Universe. I love the Marvel lot, they're really great people to work with, so it would be nice to go back and work with them again. I'd definitely do it."
Cap 2 will hit theaters April 4, 2014.

Ill-Timed "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" Teaser Poster
In an unfortunately timed bit of movie marketing, the first poster has dropped for Paramount's upcoming reboot of the Jack Ryan Film Series titled Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit- mere hours after the news of the passing of the character's creator author Tom Clancy.
In this chapter Chris Pine plays Ryan as an ex-Marine who now works s a successful financial analyst in Moscow. He discovers a plot by his employer to finance a terrorist attack designed to collapse the U.S. economy.
"Thor" director Kenneth Branagh will pull double duty calling action and playing the Russian villain in the film. Kevin Costner is set to star in the film as Ryan’s mentor who recruits him and shows him the ropes. He's a new creation but serves the same way that Admiral Greer does played by James Earl Jones in the first three films. Keira Knightley beat out both Felicity Jones ("Like Crazy") and former "Lost" actress Evangeline Lilly to play Cathy Muller, the future wife to be of Jack Ryan. Nonso Anozie ("The Grey) has signed on as a character name of Embee. David Paymer has been cast as an American diplomat
Hossein Amini wrote the original draft of the script for the film, formerly titled "Moscow", while Adam Cozad was hired to re-write it and then Anthony Peckham took a crack at it.
Steve Zaillian, who penned the third film in the franchise "Clear and Present Danger", was attached to re-write Cozad's work. A few weeks later Zaillian withdrew from the job and then David Koepp came in to perform further work on the screenplay. As Hollywood's most famous go-to rewriter Koepp has worked on the scripts for Mission: Impossible," "Spider-Man," and "Jurassic Park"
The reboot will be the first film in the series not to be based on a specific book by author Clancy. The story will nevertheless use elements from the series. In this case the action picks up with Ryan in his pre-analyst days and the launching point of the film being a helicopter crash that nearly killed him when he was a marine - an incident mentioned in the first film The Hunt for Red October in 1991.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura Mace Neufeld and David Barron will produce.

Fox Hearts Millar's "Kindergarten Heroes"
Fox has picked up the rights to "Wanted" and "Kick-Ass" comics author Mark Millar's upcoming children's book "Kindergarten Heroes".
Carter Blanchard has been hired to pen the adapted screenplay, with Simon Kinberg producing the film.
Millar posted this on his official site:
"This is a live-action movie based on the children's book I put together with Curtis Tiegs a year or two back, planned as a franchise from Fox with the mighty Kinberg on producer duties. White-hot screenwriter Carter Blanchard is doing the screenplay, snapped up by (Steven) Spielberg for his most recent gig, and this is all looking very cool indeed. Curtis, the artist and co-owner of the book, is my 50/50 partner on the movie too. I'm very proud to say I met him here on the Millarworld boards where, like a lot of you guys, I was wowed by his super-cool art."

"The Legend of Conan" Gets A Writer
Deadline reports that Andrea Berloff has signed on to write the script for "The Legend of Conan" at Universal Pictures and Paradox Entertainment.
This film is not a reboot or re imagination of Robert E. Howard's mythology like last year's "Conan" starring Jason Momoa, It also apparently ignores the events in the 1984 sequel "Conan the Destroyer". Instead it's a direct sequel to John Milius' original "Conan the Barbarian," one that takes the thirty years that have passed into account in the storyline.
Scribe Chris Morgan (Fast Five, Wanted) conceived the story and nicknames it "Conan’s Unforgiven.". Morgan will also produce with Fredrik Malmberg Morgan says Berloff is: "an amazing writer who can juggle masculine grittiness with extreme emotional depth. Her take on Conan is powerful and genuine and would make Robert E. Howard proud."
Arnold Schwarzenegger is slated to return as the now older Conan who sets out on one final quest.

Based on the Denis Bajram six-part graphic novel series, the action is set in a future engaged in an interplanetary war. The story follows disgraced officers who have to venture to the outer reaches of space where they are attacked.
uMedia is currently at work on an adaptation of the French graphic novel series "Black Op" as well.

Details On Those "Mad Max: Fury Road" Reshoots
A source for Bad Ass Digest claims to have not only seen a rough cut of "Mad Max: Fury Road"--the reboot of the Mad Max franchise, but knows precisely why the reshoots are happening.
Tom Hardy will star as post-apocalyptic drifter Max Rockatansky made famous first by Mel Gibson.
Director George Miller will call action on three more weeks of additional filming oat his home base in Sydney, Australia starting November 22nd.
The site says:
"According to my source the movie is, end to end, a badass chase filled with incredible action. Apparently Tom Hardy is still using his Bane voice [heard in The Dark Knight Rises] here, but since Max only has a handful of lines it isn't too bad.
The reshoots are intended to beef up the big bookending action sequences. George Miller created an action sequence taking place on a vehicle elevator, and he couldn't get the budget to fully realize it.
When the studio saw what he had done with the rest of the movie they gave him the money to go back and make the vehicle elevator sequence sing. There's still more work to be done on the film; I understand it's a little long right now."
The plot sees Max get caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived.
Aussies Megan Gale John Howard, Angus Sampson and Gillian Jones join Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Charlize Theron Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Adelaide Clemens also star. Aussie Supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw will make her acting debut in the pic.

Friday the 13th Goes Found Footage?
The folks that care for the Friday the 13th film franchise are said to be considering the idea of making the next chapter a found footage movie.
Shock Till You Drop reports that they are actively set to take pitches for a new movie using the found footage format.
The property is back at Paramount now, which looks to continue their success with the micro budgeted horror like the Paranormal Activity film series, but Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes is still involved (they produced the 2009 reboot).

Simon Kinberg Takes Over "Fantastic Four" Reboot Script
Heat Vision reports that Simon Kinberg ("Sherlock Holmes," "X-Men: Days of Future Past") will take over scripting duties for the upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot.
The comic book series is about four individuals-- Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Sue Storm (The Invisible Girl, her brother Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing).who gained superpowers after exposure to cosmic rays during a scientific mission to outer space.
Jeremy Slater was hired to pen the previous script draft.--that Seth Grahame-Smith polished. Michael Green ("Green Lantern") also wrote a draft as well.
"Chronicle" director Josh Trank is set to helm.
"X-Men: First Class" and "Kick-Ass" director Matthew Vaughn recently signed on to produce the reset
The leads were previously portrayed by Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis. The first Fantastic Four in 2005 and its sequel 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer in 2007--both helmed by Tim Story--grossed $620 million despite awful reviews (I liked em both!).
"Girls" star Allison Williams was rumored to be circling Invisible Girl in May--While Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan was eyed for Torch."The Spectacular Now" star Miles Teller was rumored to be first in line to play Mr. Fantastic--which was quickly debunked.
Fox wants to restore some credibility and quality to the property, that is currently targeting a Spring 2015 release. Vancouver has lost out on the shoot for the upcoming reboot. The film's production will now take place in Louisiana due to tax incentives in place.

Abrams Is Sorry About All Of Those Lens Flares
One common trait of director J.J. Abrams' last 3 films--The lens flare. The use of which has produced much comment (largely negative) in that timeframe.
Folks barely noticed it in "Mission: Impossible 3," however, when it comes to 2009's "Star Trek" reboot one could not help but notice the flare.
Now, chatting with Crave Online, Abrams says he's not only aware of the issue, he's taking steps to correct the quirk:
"I know I get a lot of grief for that. But I'll tell you, there are times when I'm working on a shot, I think, 'Oh this would be really cool... with a lens flare.' But I know it's too much, and I apologize. I'm so aware of it now. I was showing my wife an early cut of Star Trek Into Darkness and there was this one scene where she was literally like, 'I just can't see what's going on. I don't understand what that is.' I was like, 'Yeah, I went too nuts on this.' This is how stupid it was... I actually had to use [special effects company] ILM to remove lens flare in a couple of shots, which is moronic. But I think admitting you're an addict is the first step towards recovery."

Cap 2: Johansson On Rogers And Black Widow
Chatting with Refinery 29 actress Scarlett Johansson says that there's an interesting dynamic between Cap and Black Widow in the sequel "Captain America: The Winter Soldier".
"It's been two years since [the characters] appeared, and now both are agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fighting in the streets. We are not superheroes flying side by side. They help each other because we are fighting in a similar way. It's a working relationship. By a series of unfortunate encounters, they will be in a situation in which their friendship becomes more intimate. They share many similarities because they live on the defensive without relying on anyone. Also, the two have been working for the government throughout their professional careers. With their friendship they begin to question what they want and what is their true identity."
The story follows the acclaimed comic storyline The Winter Soldier by author Ed Brubaker, who along with artist Steve Epting, in which Captain America's (Chris Evans) sidekick Bucky (Sebastian Stan) is resurrected as a brainwashed super-assassin known as the Winter Solider. The tale also follows that Peggy's (played by Hayley Atwell in Captain America: The First Avenger) niece Sharon (Revenge star Emily VanCamp) meets Cap.
Anthony Mackie is poised to play Harlem crime fighter Falcon, one of mainstream comics' first black superheroes. Falcon, aka. Sam Wilson, can telepathically talk to birds and has a suit that allows him to fly and enhances his strength. in the film. Cobie Smulders will reprise her role of Maria Hill. She joins her boss in The Avengers co-star Samuel L. Jackson for the film. Frank Grillo ("The Grey," "Warrior") will play the villain Crossbones in the sequel. Toby Jones, has confirmed to Hey U Guys that he will reprise the role of the villain Armin Zola. Maximiliano HernĂĄndez said via Twitter that he will reprise his "Avengers" role of Agent Jasper Sitwell in the sequel. Robert Redford (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) has entered talks for a senior leadership role in S.H.I.E.L.D. UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre will play villain Batroc the Leaper, an infamous mercenary in the Cap mythology.
Joe Russo and Anthony Russo are directing the sequel, using a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

Star Wars: Stapleton And Day Lewis Feel The Force???
Sullivan Stapleton and Daniel Day Lewis are the latest names linked to the casting rumor carousel for J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII" says Latino Review
While the site says Stapleton has read for an undetermined part in the film, he's also seemingly upset some of the studio suits by talking about it.
As for Day Lewis the site suggests the Oscar winning actor was spotted having lunch with "Uncle George" and "Aunt Kathleen" last week in San Rafael. Oooh. Ahhhh!
Oscar winner Michael Arndt ("Toy Story 3," "Little Miss Sunshine") is writing the script for the “Star Wars: Episode VII that J.J. Abrams directs The script is said to include Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo in their later years. No official word yet if Mark Hamill could be tempted to return as Luke Skywalker but he is interested... Carrie Fisher had all but confirmed that she would be back in the role of Princess Leia--but then her rep told CNN that she 'was joking' Harrison Ford is also interested..."
Franchise creator George Lucas told Bloomberg Businessweek that he begun talks with original stars to have them return to for its new films -- before he had even begun the process of the ultimately $2 billion deal between Disney/Lucasfilm.
Fellow Original cast mates Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels say that they are keen on returning to that "galaxy far, far, away". Earlier in July actor Ray Park said that he would be interested in playing Darth Maul again as well. Back in May LR said that "The Tudors" and future Dracula TV series star Jonathan Rhys Meyers was having his "name thrown around a lot" in connection with the movie. The actor says the talk is not true. David Oyelowo has seemingly been tagged for a role, while Michael B. Jordan reportedly met with Abrams personally about the film.
It's rumored that Ewan McGregor will return as the Force Ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi McGregor played the Jedi Master in The Prequel Trilogy while Alec Guinness portrayed the Force Ghost version of Obi-Wan Kenobi in The Original Trilogy. The Force Ghost is much the same way that actor Ian McDiarmid could return as Emperor Palpatine. The character met his end in the final reel of "Return of the Jedi"...
It was rumored recently that Alex Pettyfer ("Magic Mike," "I Am Number Four) likely auditioned for the role of Luke Skywalker’s son. Rachel Hurd-Wood reportedly went in for an audition to play the daughter of Princess Leia in the sequel. Latino Review claims they "got it confirmed via representation and other solid sources". Noise that Sherlock and "Star Trek Into Darkness" star Benedict Cumberbatch was poised to reunite with JJ were squashed but persit nonetheless. Saoirse Ronan is in there too. She even confirmed to Sky News that she auditioned for the film, but added "so has everyone". Former "Spartacus" star Liam McIntyre has reportedly read for the part of a Jedi role, while Ksenia Solo ("Black Swan") is apparently in contention for the role of Leia and Han Solo's daughter
Zac Efron and Ryan Gosling were rumored to be in the running for the eagerly awaited next film with Gosling in particular is also being talked about for the role of Luke Skywalker's son. Leonardo DiCaprio is said to have passed on an offer to appear. Pretty wild...
Writers Lawrence Kasdan ("The Empire Strikes Back," "Raiders of the Lost Ark") and Simon Kinberg ("Sherlock Holmes," "X-Men: Days of Future Past") have reportedly closed deals to pen the final two installments of the new "Star Wars" trilogy. Kasdan and Kinberg are also indeed developing stand alone/origin Star Wars features.

Thor 2: The Distruction Of The Bifrost Bridge Is Key
"Thor: The Dark World" executive producer Craig Kyle told Screen Rant that the ending of the first "Thor" film and how events in "The Avengers" help to set up the certain plot points that are part of sequel.
The destruction of the Bifrost Bridge (rainbow bridge), which allowed for easy travel between the nine realms, is a major part of the Thor 2 story:
"The Bifrost was destroyed at the end of the first Thor. Odin had to break a lot of rules and laws, and take a lot of himself to send Thor to Earth in The Avengers. And during that time when they couldn’t jump from Asgard to the other worlds chaos reigned. And so we come into a time of real strife in the nine realms. You’ve got Marauders who are moving from world to world that are pillaging and attacking helpless planets, because they know the cops can’t come. And we just catch into a story in a way finding out where the hell is everybody, you know?"
The sequel is directed by Alan Taylor and on a larger scale than the first film with double the amount of Asgardian characters and the inclusion of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) battling more mythical Norse creatures.
Natalie Portman is back playing Jane. Tom Hiddleston is once again bad boy Loki Kat Dennings will reprise her role as Darcy Lewis, the spunky sidekick to Portman's from the first film and Idris Elba will be reprising the role of Heimdal. Jamie Alexander plays Sif, ‘Chuck’s’ Zachary Levi is lined up to replace Josh Dallas who will not reprise his role as Warriors Three member Frandral Hopkins will be back playing Thor's pops. Christopher Eccleston will play the villain--the character of Malekith The Accursed, is the ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim and has magical abilities including teleportation, energy projection, flight, and shape changing ability. He also has a weakness to iron which cancels out his powers. Eccleston takes over from Mads Mikkelsen who was originally slated to play the part but had to pass due to scheduling issues with the Hannibal TV show. The great Alice Krige ("Star Trek: First Contact," "Silent Hill") will play the Dark Elf queen Alflyse. Richard Brake will play a captain in an elite squad of warriors known as the Einherjar. Clive Russell ("Sherlock Holmes") will play Tyr, Asgard’s god of war and the older brother of Thor.
The film's villain Malekith, holds a personal grudge against Odin. With Odin broke some major rules to send Thor to Earth, those actions will have big consequences for all of Asgard.
"Saving Private Ryan" scribe Robert Rodat is said to have performed a re-write of the sequel. First Thor co-writer Don Payne had written the first draft. It was recently revealed that Joss was brought in to help solve a few issues with the screenplay.
The sequel hits theaters on November 8th 2013

The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Silver Chair Film On The Way
Producer Mark Gordon and C.S. Lewis & Co are teaming to develop a fourth film in "The Chronicles of Narnia film series says Deadline,
The project is "The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Silver Chair," an adaptation of the next novel in author C. S. Lewis' seven book series. Originally published as the fourth book, it is now often packaged as the sixth book in the series.
The film would follow on from 2005's "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," 2008's "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" and 2010's The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader".
Following the $745 million worldwide haul of the first film, the next two films underwhelmed at the box-office domestically. Yet both were still big hits internationally, and earned global totals of over $420 million each. The whole series has also performed extremely well on home video.
'The Silver Chair' is set decades after 'Treader'. Eustace Scrubb and his friend Jill Pole are brought to Narnia by Aslan to find the missing heir of a now elderly King Caspian. The missing Prince Rilian disappeared while on a quest to find the green serpent that killed his mother. Eustace and Jill set off to the giant-lands north of Narnia to find him, and encounter the Lady of the Green Kirtle and a young man who must be bound nightly to a magical Silver Chair.
Gordon, Douglas Gresham, stepson of series author Lewis and Vincent Sieber, will produce.
No word yet as to who might direct. Since so much time has passed between films, there's no word if they will keep with the original cast of kids: Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, William Moseley and Anna Popplewell

X-Men DOFP: Dinklage Talks Playing Trask
Peter Dinklage may be hard at work in production for the next season of Game of Thrones but the actor took time out to discuss his role of Bolivar Trask in director Bryan Singer's upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past":
Dinklage told EW that he didn’t want to play Trask as an evil guy. “I didn’t want to play the villain, He’s a man of science. He’s a man of invention. He actually sees what he’s doing as a good thing — [his ambition is] definitely blind and he’s quite arrogant. He’s strove all his life for a certain respect and attention.”
In the film, Dinklage said the character is challenged by a tough presidential adversary. “He’s up against Richard Nixon,” Dinklage said with a smile. “He’s got some hurdles.”
The latest sequel is based on a -2 issue story arc in the 'X-Men' comics published in 1981. Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes) is on board to pen the screenplay which will include New Mutants. Magneto and his relationship with Charles X. Xavier will be front and center as well.
Singer penned the treatment and produced 'First Class' which was directed by Matthew Vaughn. Now, their roles will be completely reversed for this sequel with Singer helming the film while Vaughn wrote the treatment and will produce with Lauren Shuler Donner and writer Simon Kinberg
Most of “X-Men: First Class” cast will reprise their roles, including James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto) Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), and Nicholas Hoult (Beast). Lucas Till (Alex “Havoc” Summers) Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert) recently confirmed that she is NOT in this film...
The original trilogy stars Sir Ian McKellen Sir Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman are poised to return again as well. Ellen Page (Kitty Pride) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) Anna Paquin (Rogue) Halle Berry (Storm). It seems Alan Cumming.(Nightcrawler) will not return. James Marsden has confirmed that he will NOT return as Cyclops,
Daniel Cudmore is returning as Colossus American Horror Story favorite Evan Peters plays the speedy Quicksilver. BooBoo Stewart is also in the film--character as yet unknown. Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has joined the film--as Blink, a mutant with the power of teleportation. Aussie soap "Home and Away" actor Josh Helman -- once rumored to be playing a young Cyclops -- will portray Bill Stryker. In X2: X-Men United Brian Cox played him and in X-Men Origins: Wolverine Danny Huston took over. French actor Omar Sy plays Bishop and Adan Canto also star.

X-Men DOFP: Evan Peters Talks Quicksilver
IGN caught up with actor and American Horror Story favorite Evan Peters to discuss his role as the speedy Quicksilver in director Bryan Singer's upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past":
"They used motion capture," Peters says of the speed effect. "I don’t know what I can say about it and not get in trouble, I really don’t. But they shot a lot of slow motion. They brought in an amazing camera, the Phantom -- it’s, like, 3600 frames per second. They brought in these huge, bright lights and did some amazing, amazing stuff with it. I’m excited to see it all cut together and check all that out. It’s going to be really cool."
Peters describes his incarnation of the character as a "twitchy" teenager in Days of Future Past, which doesn't quite jive with how the character is portrayed in the comics. He also says that he will see action in the 1970's tine frame of the film.
"Bryan Singer has a lot of creative freedom on these X-Men movies -- he can do pretty much whatever he wants with them," the actor says of the changes, while also noting that the possibility of comics fans reacting negatively to any alterations was definitely discussed while making the film. "There’s always that risk, but I think at the end of the day, you want to try to make the best movie you can. You kinda gotta go with your gut on that."
Aaron Taylor-Johnson remains the frontrunner to play Quicksilver in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" for writer/director Joss Whedon. Peters says that they are two totally different characters:
"Well, my character can’t be in The Avengers," he says. "It’s going to be a different one. It won’t be me, it’ll be someone else. But yeah, I didn’t focus too much on it. I mean, what an amazing opportunity to be a part of X-Men. I’m gonna try to do the best job that I can and not let anyone down. That was pretty much where I was at with it. I just thought it was really cool to be a part of all the special effects stuff and the movies that I grew up loving. It’s awesome."

Wyatt Russell – son of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn plays a frat brother who befriends Tatum but comes under suspicion of criminal activity. Ice Cube is set to reprise his role as Captain Dickson. Amber Stevens, who starred on TV's “Greek,” is set to play Hill’s love interest in the film.
Neal H. Moritz produces the pic.
“Buddies who work together is a topic that is close to home for us," said Lord and Miller in a
press release. "We’re looking forward to working with Channing and Jonah, Neal and our friends at Sony again to take these guys’ relationship to the next level.”
“We are grateful to our friends at Sony and MGM for letting us do another one," added Tatum and Hill. "We’re proud to be working alongside Phil, Chris, Neal, Ice Cube, Korean Jesus and the rest of our amazing crew and cast. As we all know, sequels are ALWAYS better than the original. Every single time. This will be no exception. How are we still saying the exact same words at the same time? This is crazy! Jump Street!”
22 Jump St is slated for release June 13, 2014.
