A source for Bad Ass Digest claims to have not only seen a rough cut of "Mad Max: Fury Road"--the reboot of the Mad Max franchise, but knows precisely why the reshoots are happening.
Tom Hardy will star as post-apocalyptic drifter Max Rockatansky made famous first by Mel Gibson.
Director George Miller will call action on three more weeks of additional filming oat his home base in Sydney, Australia starting November 22nd.
The site says:
"According to my source the movie is, end to end, a badass chase filled with incredible action. Apparently Tom Hardy is still using his Bane voice [heard in The Dark Knight Rises] here, but since Max only has a handful of lines it isn't too bad.
The reshoots are intended to beef up the big bookending action sequences. George Miller created an action sequence taking place on a vehicle elevator, and he couldn't get the budget to fully realize it.
When the studio saw what he had done with the rest of the movie they gave him the money to go back and make the vehicle elevator sequence sing. There's still more work to be done on the film; I understand it's a little long right now."
The plot sees Max get caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived.
Aussies Megan Gale John Howard, Angus Sampson and Gillian Jones join Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Charlize Theron Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Adelaide Clemens also star. Aussie Supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw will make her acting debut in the pic.
