"Office" Max

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire ends its three week reign as box office champ, thanks to another fantasy flick, based on a popular book. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe locked onto first place with a strong $67.1 million. The political thriller Syriana nabbed the number 2 spot, with $12 million, for its first weekend in wide release. Harry...falls to third place with $10.3 million with its total domestic take now $244.1 million.

Thanks to Potter's gold and Narnia's enchantment, the "box office slump" may finally be at an end. Ticket sales now up some 17% over this time last year And it's a trend that's likely to continue with Peter Jackson's King Kong right around the corner.
