"Stranger Than Fiction" writer Zach Helm is set to pen the remake of "Jumanji" says The Hollywood Reporter
The original 1995 film is based on author Chris Van Allsburg's book and followed two kids who play an old magic board game and release a man (Robin Williams) as well as many dangers that can be stopped only by finishing the game.
Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pierce, Jonathan Hyde, Bebe Neuwirth, David Alan Grier and Patricia Clarkson also starred
The new film is expected to update the premise for the 21st century.
William Teitler, who produced the original movie will also produce this with Matt Tolmach.
