Darin' Darren

Fox Searchlight is considering the distribution of Darren Aronofsky's new genre-thriller "Black Swan" and in turn that film could ultimately threaten his commitment to relaunch Robocop' says The Risky Biz Blog.

Swan sees Natalie Portman as a veteran ballerina who finds herself in competition with a rival dancer as a major performance approaches. The rival my be a ghost or a delusion of hers.

The budgeting issues are still being worked out but it could begin production this Fall.

MGM suits have already put out early enquiries for potential Robo- replacements should Aronofsky’s schedule not permit it.

David Self wrote Robo while John McLaughlin penned Swan.
