Double Depp-ing

Its confirmed - Tim Burton's next film after "Alice in Wonderland" will be the long in the works "Dark Shadows" film says Digital Spy.

Based on the cult '60s spooky soap-opera featured gothic horror staples like vampires, ghosts and zombies. Johnny Depp--who made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con 2009 is attached to play Barnabas Collins, the vampire patriarch of the series.



Burton: "That’s something that [Depp and I] both love and are excited about. When I’m done with [Alice] I’ll definitely focus on that".

What about Depp's commitment to Pirates of the Caribbean 4:

Disney's Head of Production Oren Aviv tells Coming Soon that the next sequel of their "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise is coming together...

"We're going to shoot 'Pirates 4' in April and May of next year. We are going to release it hopefully in 2011 is the plan" said Aviv.

Adding if P 4 is successful it will "hopefully be the first of another trilogy"

The Tone? "We can't get bigger... I want to kind of reboot the whole thing and bring it down to its core, its essence, just characters."

No word on whether franchise director Gore Verbinski might come back for #4
