Gidget Goes Hollywood Again?

The fictional character Gidget created by author Frederick Kohner (based on his teenage daughter, Kathy) began as a series of novels and then appeared in a trio of films--beginning with 1959's Gidget and lasting through the early 60's. The 1965 TV show made Sally Field (pictured) a star...

Is the character poised for a big screen return in a new series of flicks?

The folks over at Moviehole are reporting that two of Disney's biggest names Miley Cyrus and Zac Efron have been approached to star in them. The ad suits would have fun on the marketing of the pic, eh,

While Zac's Hairspray co-star Brittany Snow may be on the beach as well....Talk about six degrees...

Cyrus in the tile role Efron would be her beachy boyfriend...

I find it hard to imagine that Efron would sign on since he wants to take on more serious roles....like Richard Linklater's still release dateless Me and Orson Welles...

Still it would give him a chance to showcase his ability to hang 1o on screen and Snow would look great in a bikini--Added bonus--Field could cameo!
