After having voiced the character in a short-lived  Black Panther animated series, actor Djimon Hounsou wants to play the superhero in the film version reports io9.

Hounsou says he's eager to take on the role and the animated series was aimed at building interest in a live-action movie - "That was the idea: using it as a leverage to tell a feature story."
