Actress Wendi McLendon-Covey has spoken up concerning recent uproar over a "Bridesmaids" sequel without star and co-writer Kristen Wiig says THR.
Written by Wiig & Annie Mumolo the original pic had Wiig playing Annie Walker, who is chosen as the maid of honor for her best friend's wedding but gets in a competition with one of the bridesmaids.
McLendon-Covey tells E! Online that “She never said that she didn’t want to do it, all she said was that she’s not working on it right this minute because someone gave her the opportunity to write and direct her own film so, duh, she’s going to do that first. So no. I think all she’s waiting for is for her and Annie to come up with an idea that’s equally as good.”
Didn't see the first film but I get the sense that the whole could thing be tarnished the same way that The Hangover and The Hangover Part II felt like the same film.
