Fox has picked up the film rights to the long-running children’s television show "Sesame Street" says Heat Vision.
On the air since 1969, the educational show introduced legendary characters such as Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster and Elmo all of whom are set to make the leap to the big screen
Longtime writer for the show Joey Mazzarino will pen the film
Shawn Levy, Michael Aguilar, Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady are set to produce.
The pic will actually be the third film to feature 'Sesame' characters including 1985’s "Follow that Bird " and 1999’s "The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland".
