"Coach Carter" and "Save the Last Dance" helmer Thomas Carter is set to direct the true life tale "When the Game Stands Tall" says The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is based on the inspirational true story of high school football coach Bob Ladouceur, who led his perennial losing California team, the De La Salle Spartans Football to twelve consecutive undefeated seasons from 1992 to 2004 and a streak of 138 straight victories.
The goal is to use a cast of relative unknowns.
Scott Marshall Smith ("The Score") is adapting the screenplay using the book by Neil Hayes
Cathy Schulman and David Zelon are producing the film
Production hopes to kick off in September
