De Caestecker Joins Gosling's "How To"

Deadline reports that "The Fades" star Iain De Caestecker has landed a lead role in How to Catch a Monster.


Described as a "modern day fairytale" with suspense and fantasy noir elements weaved in, the story is set in a vanishing city where a single mother of two (Christina Hendricks) is "swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son (De Caestecker) discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town". The pair must solve the mystery if they're all to survive.

Doctor Who star Matt Smith role is the male lead but specs are unknown Eva Mendes will play 'Cat', a prominent figure of the Big Bad Wolf Club. Rob Zabrecky plays a cab driver. Ben Mendelsohn and Saoirse Ronan also star.

The motion picture will mark Ryan Gosling's writing and directing debut

Marc Platt Michel Litvak Gosling and David Lancaster will produce the film
