Oxenbould Will Have A "Very Bad Day"

Newcomer Ed Oxenbould ("Puberty Blues") has won the lead in the live-action adaptation of author Judith Viorst's children's book "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" says THR .

The story centers on a boy (Oxenbould) who has a very horrible day and finds out that other people can have them too.

Jennifer Garner will play his mother. Steve Carell is set to play the boy’s father.

"Cedar Rapids" and "Youth in Revolt" helmer Miguel Arteta calls action--Lisa Cholodenko ("The Kids Are All Right") was previously supposed to direct the project but recently dropped out. She and Rob Lieber wrote the adapted script.

Shawn Levy is producing.

Production begins in the fall.
