McNairy On The Hunt In "Black Sea"

Scoot McNairy ("Monsters," "Argo") is set to join "The Last King of Scotland" and "Touching the Void" director Kevin Macdonald's new action drama "Black Sea" says Deadline.

Dennis Kelly's script sees Jude Law as a submarine captain who gets laid off by a salvage company. Looking for money and payback, he accepts a gig from a shadowy backer to hunt for a stolen and sunken submarine at the bottom of the Black Sea said to be loaded with gold. Assembling a crew of Russian and English sailors to help him, the captain begins to realise how dangerous a situation he has put himself in.

McNairy plays an American who convinces the captain to undertake the mission, even though the skipper has been double crossed before and thinks it could be a set-up

Macdonald and Charles Steel are producing.
