Director Zack Snyder is talking the near future regarding 2 of his high profile projects...
Chatting with rhe folks at IESB.Net about the prequel/sequel to "300":
The action will take place between the Battle of Thermopylae and the Battle of Plataea, the battle where narrator Dilios is fighting while re-telling the story of King Leonidas and the mighty Spartans to a new group of warriors at the end of the first film.
Frank Miller is going to be writing and drawing the graphic novel on which the 2nd film will be based. Once that's finished they will start writing the screenplay.
Snyder says he won't have any input into the work as he wants it to be a creation entirely of Miller's.
A 300 Limited Collector's Edition DVD will be released on November 18th 2008...
And...
At a special presentation of nearly a half-hour of "Watchmen" footage in West Hollywood yesterday, Snyder answered online press questions about the saga due March 6th 2009.
The film's running time currently stands at about 163 minutes and could be edited down from that.
Asked about the lawsuit:...
Snyder says he's just been working on the movie and it hasn't hit him yet - "[Fox] would have come and stopped us if they wanted to. But they haven't yet. We are having fun. And we are just making a movie."
Snyder hopes to include the animated 'Tales of the Black Freighter short into the film - "[WHV] has done a really great job of putting that together for us, so hopefully we will be able to incorporate that back into the film at some point."
How about a sequel?
"I don't know...That would be interesting. But there can't be a sequel. There can't be a prequel. Not with me involved. They might be able to find someone that would do it, but it wouldn't be me. That's crazy talk."
