Set Sail

**THR says home video company Anchor Bay Entertainment is going to make the leap into the theatrical business, forming a label that will release movies in a limited number of theaters

The movies will primarily serve a niche playing on fewer than 100 screens, with the possibility of breaking out the occasional film to a wider audience.

AB made a name for itself putting horror titles like Halloween-1978 into the vid market many times as DVD took off and VHS said goodbye..

About 8-10 theater titles are planned per year.

**Variety has confirmed Thursday's rumor that Josh Brolin is tops for the role of Jonah Hex.

**Actor Columbus Short tells the gang at IGN that he is up for the role of Murtaugh's (Danny Glover) son Nick in "Lethal Weapon 5".

He adds that the film is being fast tracked into production...

2 weeks ago, Screen Rant ran a story that had original Lethal Weapon writer Shane Black calling the shots taking over from Richard Donner who had directed all four prior films in the series.

Black's original script in '87 was the "darkest" of the lot--My guess is if this moves ahead we would see a return to those roots
