Deep Notions

James Cameron seems stuck in the water-Titanic, Aliens of the Deep and Ghosts of the Abyss and on the 3-D format beyond Avatar's release in Dumber...

Universal Pictures and Relativity Media will release a Cameron-produced underwater drama "Sanctum," using the "it" format says Variety.

The film is based upon Andrew Wight's near-death experience when he led a diving expedition miles into a system of underwater caves, only having to find a way out after a freak storm collapsed the entrance.

Alister Grierson will direct from a script by Wight and John Garvin.

The $30 million movie will shoot later this year.
