Better Not Suck

Gladiator director Ridley Scott and scribe John Logan are both circling the film version of the vampire tale The Passage says Variety.

Based on Justin Cronin's (under the pseudonym Jordan Ainsley) 1200 page novel, the story follows terminally ill patients who become healthy after they are bitten by bats in South America, and the government conducts secret tests on human subjects to see if the virus can cure illness. The result is an apocalyptic unleashing of bloodthirsty vampire test subjects that include death row inmates.

Logan (pictured) would of course adapt the script as a potential helming vehicle for Scott--who is also directing a new Alien film prequel.

The studio-which bought the rights to the book two years ago, before it was completed, paid Logan a seven figure salary for his services!

Hence the title for this post...
