A Funny Guy Tells A Funny Srory

Zach Galifianakis is in negotiations to star in the coming-of-age dramedy "It's Kind of a Funny Story" says The Hollywood Reporter.

Based on Ned Vizzini's young-adult novel which tells of a teenage boy who, after a bout of depression, is sent to a mental institution where he ends up in the adult ward and meets a number of offbeat adults as well as a quirky teenage girl.

Galifianakis would play one of the main adult roles in the film.

Emma Roberts co-stars as the teenage love interest.

"Half Nelson" writer-directors Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden adapted the script and will direct the film when it shoots later this year.

The summer comedy hit The Hangover continues to yield dividends for scene stealer Galifianakis
