Lemke Gets Goosed

Darren Lemke ("Shrek Forever After") is the latest writer with a deal to pen a live-action film version of  "Goosebumps" says Heat Vision.

Based upon author R.L. Stine's popular young-adult novel series is made up of more than 50 books that often pay homage to classic sci-fi/horror movies. After nabbing the rights to the book series in 2008, Sony Pictures has been trying to adapt the property.

Lemke makes at least the fourth writer to take a shot at scripting the project. Larry Karaszewski, Scott Alexander, and Carl Ellsworth have all taken a whack at it Lemke's script will ignore the previous attempts and start fresh.

Neal Moritz and Deborah Forte will produce.

The property has been adapted as a TV series in the 90's

This first film treatment is looked upon as a potential franchise launcher.
