"Footloose" remake director Craig Brewer is in talks to call action on the "The Idolmaker" remake says Variety.
The original ‘Idolmaker was helmed by Taylor Hackford in 1980 and starred Ray Sharkey. It told the story of rock promoter/producer as Vincent Vacari
Based on the life of Bob Marcucci. Marcucci. who died in 2011 at 81 discovered the likes of Frankie Avalon and Fabian
Justin Timberlake is producing and could potentially star in the project--that is not a lock yet though. Hawk Koch and Gene Kirkwood will also produce.
The project shares similar themes to JT's upcoming producing debut, a biopic about iconic 1970s music entrepreneur Neil Bogart called "Spinning Gold" which hopes to shoot this year.
A few years ago, Ryan Gosling was previously signed on to both star in and make his directorial debut on the remake but abruptly pulled out of doing it a few weeks later, due to a busy schedule.
