Lead off Position

Geeks (myself among them) can rejoice! Filming is now under way on Joss Whedon's highly aticipated comic book pic The Avengers

Captain America:The First Avengers star Chris Evans gave MTV some deets about what fans can expect.

"I think there's certainly a dichotomy — this kind of friction between myself and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr,)," Evans said. "They're polar opposites. One guy is flash and spotlight and smooth, and the other guy is selfless and in the shadows and kind of quiet...and they have to get along. [The movie explores] that, and it's pretty fun."

Evans also points out that the modern world setting of the team up pic will have fun playing with the "fish out of water" aspect of the character, in determining his place in both the world and on the team.

In the comics, both Cap and Iron Man have lead the team in the past Which hero will lead the team in the movie is not yet known.

Cap will be seen in a new costume for Avengers, which Evans describes as "awesome" which will reflect significant changes when compared to the suit we will see in The First Avenger in July.

The Avengers assemble in theaters on May 4, 2012.
