-Incendies" director Denis Villeneuve has signed to helm the English-language thriller "Prisoners" reports The Los Angeles Times.

-Peter Jackson has confirmed via Facebook, that Ian Holm will reprise his role as an older Bilbo Baggins in the "The Hobbit"

-Despite talk from Thor star that she was confirmed for "The Avengers", his on screen leading lady Natalie Portman has denied those claims in an interview with Today Online. "I’m not in The Avengers, but I’m signed up for the next two (Thor) sequels if they are made. I think these inter-related Marvel movies are great fun. The Avengers will be like Ocean’s Eleven with the superhero all-stars!"

-Former "Scrubs" star Zach Braff has revealed in a Movieline interview that he's set to star in a new indie project that no-one seems to have really heard of  "I’m supposed to act in a movie called The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, with Chloe Moretz and Jessica Biel, in the fall. That’s a really, really well-written script...." It tells the story of a recently widowed and introverted architect who befriends a wisecracking young girl and agrees to help her build a raft to cross the Atlantic.

-Woody Allen's Rome-set pic now has the official title "The Wrong Picture". Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Alec Baldwin and Penelope Cruz are currently set to star and shooting kicks off this Summer.

-Michael Bay told MTV that he won't work with Shia LaBeouf again after "Transformers: Dark of the Moon". Bay says "He's like a little brother to me but I told him, 'I'm never going to work with you when you're older.' [Shia asked] 'Why?' 'Because you're just a grump.' You put him on a wire and he turns into this evil monster. Other actors say, 'This is really fun,' he's just the opposite.". Ouch!

-Thomas Jane has confirmed on the JoBlo Podcast that he's signed on to star as an NYPD detective who's paired with Sylvester Stallone's hitman character to solve two murders in the Walter Hill-directed "Headshot". "He's a hitman, I'm a cop, and we're just opposite in every f*cking way, and we need each other to get this job done. And of course I'm like, 'As soon as this job's over, I'm going to take you to jail, you know, you're a killer.'" says Jane of his character. Shooting is due to kick off later this year in New Orleans.

-Meanwhile, Stallone himself has confirmed that despite reports, he will not be directing the sequel to "The Expendables".

-DreamWorks Pictures is already getting to work on a sequel to the Shawn Levy-directed drama "Real Steel" with Hugh Jackman reports Deadline. Speaking of whom, TheWrap claims negotiations have ended for Hugh to take the male lead in Snow White And The Huntsman. The hunt er...continues...

-British actor Jeremy Irvine ("War Horse," "Life Bites") is in negotiations to play the lead character in Mike Newell's adaptation of the classic Charles c Dickens novel "Great Expectations" says Variety. Ralph Fiennes is in early talks to star in the film as well says The Daily Mail.
