Bello Plays For Buckley

Anthrax bass player Frank Bello will play punk legend Richard Hell in the biopic in Dan Algrant's "Greetings From Tim Buckley" says Variety.


The movie will center on the days leading up to singer Jeff Buckley's 1991 performance at his father Tim Buckley's tribute concert. "Through a romance with a young woman working at the concert, he comes to understand the father who abandoned him. Culminating in a cathartic performance of his father's most famous song, Jeff's debut stuns the audience and launches his career as one of the greatest young musicians of his time."

Penn Badgley stars as Buckley and co-stars with Imogen Poots Norbert Leo Butz Jessica Stone Bill Sadler and Frank Wood ("Changeling," "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3") as songwriter Gary Lucas



Buckley Jr. died at the age of 30 in 1997 after he drowned in Tennessee’s Wolf River.

Algrant wrote amd will direct

Patrick Milling Smith, John N. Hart and Fred Zollo will produce this pic that is not be confused with the Reeve Carney starring Untitled Biopic directed by Jake Scott--And will use Carney's voice according to Billboard. That project begins production in the Fall.
