The story is inspired by Channing Tatum’s pre-Hollywood days as a male dancer--The biopic follows a newcomer to the world of exotic dancing (Alex Pettyfer) who is tempted by an older woman (Demi Moore) as well as bond with a mentor to the younger stripper--The titular Magic Mike (Tatum)
Iglesias will play a DJ in the film.
Matthew McConaughey was just cast as Dallas, a former stripper who now owns the Xquisite club where Mike works. Joe Manganiello will play Big Dick Richie While White Collar's Matt Bomer also stars as another stripper. Cody Horn will play Pettyfer’s sister in the film who has a romance with Tatum’s character. Riley Keough plays Pettyfer's girlfriend. 30 year old Cuban actor William Levy has joined the pic most likely playing another stripper
Reid Carolin pens the screenplay.The idea of Magic Mike came about when Soderbergh and Tatum were working together on the espionage drama Haywire.
Tatum, Nick Wechsler, Gregory Jacobs and Carolin will produce the pic.
Filming is slated to begin in September for a release in 2012
