The original pic centered on five medical students played by Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin and Oliver Platt,- who subject themselves to near-death expierments in order to see if anything lies beyond. After being revived they soon find themselves struggling to determine fantasy from reality as physical manifestations of childhood sins revisit them.
The thing that has me a bit more jazzed about this one than I normally would be is that Ben Ripley ("Source Code") will draft the new screenplay from Peter Filardi's work 21 years ago
Laurence Mark, who produced the original Flatliners, will produce the new version.
