The intention is to start principal photography late this summer or early in the fall in Vancouver.
The film will be live-action but the turtles are expected to be motion capture/CGI like last year's "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes".
Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec wrote the script for the reboot from which Jonathan Liebesman will direct.
Bay, Brad Fuller Andrew Form, Galen Walker and Scott Mednick will co-produce the pic for a release by Christmas 2013.
