Paramount is hoping to acquire distribution rights for Terminator 5 from Annapura Pictures and Skydance says The Wrap.
There hasn't been any movement on the project since January when Laeta Kalogridis ("Avatar") and Patrick Lussier ("Drive Angry") were hired to write this fifth installment in the Terminator franchise.
"Fast & Furious 6" director Justin Lin was originally due to call action on T-5 but had to depart due to his "Fast 6" duties.
Production on "Terminator 5" could start as soon as next year with Arnold Schwarzenegger set to star. Megan Ellison's going to produce the sequel with her brother David Ellison
Paramount, Skydance and Annapurna would not comment.
