Dimension Films has brought on frequent Saw film franchise scribe duo Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to write the next
installment in the Halloween film series according to Heat Vision.
The project is being called a
"re-calibration" and is NOT a reboot, remake or re-imagining.
This likely means something close to 2005's "Doctor Who" reboot - a
refresh/revival of the franchise, but one that preserves the previous
continuity.
If you read my review of Rob Zombie's 2007 remake of the 1978 classic--you know that I loathe nearly everything about the film...Hard to believe then that I think Zombie's Halloween II was even worse!!! Thus-I was hoping that they just reboot it again
At least Zombie is not directing the new film.
No director is attached at this time, and no details were given for
the new story.
Matt Stein and Malek Akkad are producing the pic.
