Ewan McGregor will make his feature directorial debut the long-gestating film adaptation of author Philip Roth's acclaimed novel "American Pastoral" says Deadline.
McGregor, who also stars in the film, takes over for Phillip Noyce who was attached as
director for over a decade.
Dakota Fanning will play Merry Levov, the daughter of a second-generation
immigrant who shatters the American dream of her parents (McGregor and Jennifer Connelly) when she blows up a post office in protest
over the Vietnam War.
The Lincoln Lawyer writer John Romano wrote the adapted script.
Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi are producing the film.
