Billy Bob Thornton and Alfred Molina round out the
cast of the film adaptation of author Kim Barker's memoir "The Taliban Shuffle" aka "Fun House" says Deadline.
The book recounts Barker's (Tina Fey)
years as a journalist in Afghanistan and Pakistan after arriving in
the region in 2002. During her time there she filed stories about
militants, being a woman in wartime
Iraq and Pakistan, dealing with boredom interspersed with dashes of
violence and the promiscuous war-correspondent culture.
"The Wolf Of Wall Street" and "Tarzan" star Margot Robbie is set as a blonde, competitive on-air
news anchor that becomes friends with Baker, yet turns out to be ruthless
in finding a story that will make her career.
Martin Freeman will play Fey's unexpected love interest, a dedicated Scottish photojournalist. "Game of Thrones" star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Nicholas Braun ("The Perks Of Being A Wallflower") Aussie soap Home and Away hunk Stephen Peacocke Sheila Vand, Evan Jonigkeit and Christopher Abbott are here too.
Robert Carlock penned the adapted screenplay from which "Crazy, Stupid, Love" writer/directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa will call action on "Shuffle"
Fey and Lorne Michaels will produce the pic.
Production has officially begun in New Mexico.
